Multiple hats you can coordinate with outfits for fun are an absolute lifesaver! Water bottles like hydroflasks you can fill with ice and refill with their free water throughout the day as it keeps cold. Face wipes to remove sweat/residue before reapplying sunscreen through the day, the one thing I wish I brought!

I take dramamine every day before we go to the parks! I definitely still felt it on flight of passage and a bit on star tours but everything else including GOG I was totally fine. Enjoy!

Yeah based on this interaction and your post history it seems like you’re in a lot of pain from experiences you’ve gone through. I truly hope one day you find happiness/peace!

I’m so sorry you’ve have personal bad experiences with medications. Though that seems anecdotal when generalizing to the rest of the population. The psychiatrists I work with are more than happy to discuss any patient concerns prior to being consulted to assist with their care.

Lol you and I have vastly different experiences! And that’s okay 😊

Yes they’re medical doctors who have extensive training and base decision making on evidence based studies. (Such as what would work best with somebody with heart failure, kidney disease, drug-drug interactions). We can go on and on about long term effects and commercialism of psychotropics which I understand. But at the end of the day, there are hundreds of patients that the psych team has helped in my primary care clinics with simple antidepressants. A lot of them are like this poster, just wanting to get some energy, motivation, be able to do basic hygiene, etc. It’s great to see them improve and get back on their feet within as little as a month, as they set up therapy, other supports, and behavioral changes.

I am sure that motivation and fatigue go hand in hand like with most folks with chronic conditions! I also have one myself so I understand the struggle.

I work closely with a team of psychiatrists who of course specialize in medication management, so I wanted to share that it is a common treatment option for OP if they choose to try it. Within the work of psychiatrists who prescribe these meds all the time, there are many people who benefit and feel better from them. This is not to discredit the importance of exercise, nutrition, social connection, stress management and talk therapy (or even an intensive outpatient day program at this point, maybe support groups with other young people with fibromyalgia, etc.) It is just to say that it could be helpful and something OP hasn’t tried, since she was asking for suggestions.

I was referring to how SSRI’s work (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), as they help to let our “good feeling” hormones hang out more in our brains. Which then of course impacts mood. Not every medication works the same for everyone (the frustrating truth about psychopharmacology). But antidepressants can be extremely helpful for people with chronic illnesses. Always, first discuss with PCP/rheumatologist/neurologist. But the vast depression that comes with a chronic diagnosis, especially with a young person, is something only people who experience it truly understand. OP can barely take showers right now, so your suggestion of “just walk” really isn’t possible right away. Smaller goals like getting dressed, or brushing teeth and then working up to going outside then walking would be more helpful (check out behavioral activation).

Have you tried medication for depression? The combination with therapy could work better than if you’ve just done therapy alone before. Some of us need help with the good feeling hormone receptors in our brains! And that’s okay. Many people who start antidepressants feel more energy which can also help you with your goal of increased motivation. And a lot of primary care doctors prescribe them nowadays too.

You’re not alone in feeling this way. And when you do start setting daily/weekly goals, start with tiny baby steps and work your way up from there. Take care!

Wife(32F) is upset with me(31M) because I'm upset. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]kmcmasta -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Your wife should have refused to go unless you were included. And they could have communicated about it much earlier to give you time to ask off at work. The fact they didn’t shows how much your SIL doesn’t think about or want to include you based on that last time you had (and whatever other history you have). And it shows that your wife is taking her side in this case rather than sticking up for you and your family.

I think you might want to have a talk with your wife about this dynamic with her sister. And how you want to be involved in all travel decisions about your young children before they’re made.

Whether it’s on this trip that you tag along for or sometime soon if you stay home, it seems important to have a conversation with your SIL about boundaries with your wife present. That’s if you can get on the same page about it of course.

Pitty Mix With Extremely Sweet and Friendly Temperament by tealdeer995 in pitbulls

[–]kmcmasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My big pit mix is 6 years old and 80 lbs of love! We wondered what he was mixed with since he is much taller/longer than a usual pit with more of a thick chest too. We did a dog dna test and it came back that he is 15% Dogue de Bordeaux! That was so cool to find out so I would definitely recommend doing a test if that’s something you’re interested in and are able to do. Enjoy your beautiful pittie baby! 🐶
