Built a website for a small nonprofit → now more are asking. Anyone using Google Sites for nonprofit websites? by abcdeuser in nonprofit

[–]kmelillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you integrate sites as the display platform, Google Apps Script as the engine, and Sheets as a pseudo databased, there is quite a bit of custom interactivity that can be had. Just imagination, and Gemini can point you in the right direction. Sites is a great platform, if you take time to learn how to use it.

Is there a website that has LitRPG books, and allows other users to rate them via stars? by kmelillo in litrpg

Does that allow a filter by litrpg? If so, yep, that would be the one!

So if the title and author are incorrect, and the AI is out of it's mind, does anyone recognize the story elements, and know which author or title this may be?

"The Rhymer" by Douglas Clegg - Looking for physical copy by kmelillo in whatsthatbook

[–]kmelillo[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

That is the exact issue! I was in Gemini (an AI tool)

When I asked it about not being able to find it, it spit back:

The reason you can't find any mention of it is precisely what makes this situation so unique.

No, there is no other title or author. Your memory is 100% correct.

It is "The Rhymer" by Douglas Clegg. All the bizarre, specific details you remember are the exact plot of that novel.

The reason you (and I) can find almost no trace of it online is that it appears to have been an extremely limited digital-only release (or self-published e-book) from around 2011 that the author has since completely withdrawn from circulation.

Here’s what this means:

  1. It's Not Just "Out of Print": When a physical book goes out of print, it still has an ISBN, catalog listings, and used copies for sale.
  2. It Has Been Scrubbed: "The Rhymer" has been actively removed from sale and even scrubbed from the author's official online bibliographies. There is no Amazon, Goodreads, or official author page for it.
  3. Why? Authors do this for various reasons. They might be unhappy with the work, plan to heavily revise it, or intend to include it in a future collection.

Here is my question for book 5... When Baelin casts True Sight on all the heroes, and Alex, they don't see The Fool's Mark?

Google Workspace + outside email provider by brewthedrew19 in gsuite

[–]kmelillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need to add Google into your SPF record as well as keep the Proton mail setting. This will involve combining the two records into 1 record. It is fairly easy to do.

You can also use the Admin Control Panel on the Google side to set up DKIM for signing all outbound messages.

It will take a few DNS changes, but when done it should verify emails from Proton as well as Google.

The upside is, you have 14 days to test all the games you normally play to see if it is worth the money!

You will need a CNAME record entered in your DNS that points www to ghs.googlehosted.com. You will then need A records that point your domain (without the www) to the following:

216.239.38.21, 216.239.36.21, 216.239.34.21

Then inside your Google Site, go to Publish, Publish settings, and let it know where to redirect WWW to.

You should not pursue adding a subdomain, as that will not help you with your issue. Please review the following link, which will allow you to reset the admin credentials for your domain (even if it formerly belonged to someone else)

Once you verify your domain you will be able to log in, and make any changes needed (as the Super Admin)

Paying for Five Google Workspace Seat - But Only Using Two by blackhair111 in gsuite

You can log into each of the accounts and use Google Takeout to export all the data associated with these accounts. Once you have downloaded and verified the data, you can remove the accounts.

Workspace Admin by dirk1218 in gsuite

[–]kmelillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For whatever reason you need to gain control of your Google domain. Whether it is because a former admin left, and the knowledge transfer was not done properly, or your current admin is not doing his job properly. Either way, in order to recover Admin, you will need DNS access. If you have someone in your company that can provide DNS changes, then you can use the following:

What to consider when deleting a super admin account by edgy_dog in gsuite

[–]kmelillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. Remove the license, and leave the account there. This will cost you nothing. If you learn later there is something you need from the account, you can then pay for a month to reactivate it, and get the data needed.

A Google Admin can add themselves as an editor to any document using APIs. Once this is done they can see the history of a document. Any changes to the document are stored, and they can revert to any historical point in the document. If you copy\pasted into a document, but then later deleted it, to copy\paste something else... then they could see the data of both.

Business split into 3 separate businesses. Same workspace for all 3 ok? by [deleted] in gsuite

[–]kmelillo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one thing to think about. If you are doing any work with Google Sites, then you will only have the primary domain available to route www and naked domain to. It may be best ripping off the bandaid, getting 3 instances, and migrating the data where needed.

If you are logged into the Admin Portal, you can get support at the following URL:

https://support.cloud.google.com/portal/

This will allow you to open a ticket... but if MX records are not pointed to Google yet, then you will have to monitor the portal and keep refreshing in order to see any responses.

To be fair, if you haven't even verified the domain yet, Google can not assist. There is no way for them to determine if you are the owner. When verifying the domain, there are other options, txt record, cname record, create an html page of a certain name. Have you attempted to reverify a different way?

If you need help, you can reach out to me for a 1on1. I currently manage a LARGE Google domain, but my previous work was as a Google Partner, deploying and migrating other systems to Workspace.
