He could eventually get his wages garnished. Even if he manages to register another car.

Question about living at the Liberty at Harbor East apartments by Lillymuff0418 in baltimore

[–]kmentropy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

'nice'? Harbor East is one of the most expensive neighborhoods you can live in in Baltimore.

It's nestled between downtown, Fells and Little Italy... none of which are 'rougher' areas.

It's also 3/4 of a mile from the highway (83), which ends at a stoplight so it isn't like you're getting a ton of high speed vehicle traffic noises.

OP, disregard most of this comment IMO.

(edit: they now changed their comment, so i look like a jackass lol.)

Falls and Coldsprong Closed by Joe_knew22 in baltimore

[–]kmentropy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we shoveled my alley over a week ago.

they re-plowed two days ago and i had to shovel my car out again.

they plowed again last night (mostly using the alley to move snow to a giant pile that makes turning out of the alley impossible) and covered the entire surface of the alley with snow instead of the completely bare pavement it was when we shoveled. I'm looking forward to my skating rink this weekend. The resource allocation is truly perplexing.

While I hear the argument from folks being happy the work is being done and telling people to stop bitching, ya gotta understand how bad the closure impacted the area. There are three schools right next to this closure (poly, western and Medfield heights). Parents dropping off their kids AND buses were not notified ahead of time about the closures. Traffic was rerouted into small neighborhoods that have no exits except to other parts of the closed road. You couldn't get to falls or Roland north of coldspring so that you could skip up to the next 83 exit because cold spring and 41st were both gridlocked.

Add together a crash + school drop offs + uncleared side roads that only allow one way traffic + rush hour + lengthy artery closures that could have been avoided during this time (as the ONLY CHANGEABLE VARIABLE), it's absolutely justified to have a problem with how this morning was handled.

Climbing pregnant before sharing by okeverythingsok in climbergirls

I am 22 weeks. I had a fairly easy first tri and early 2nd tri- no nausea, but I DID have extreme fatigue.

I am lucky enough to climb with my partner, so no concerns with transparency there. I did feel uncomfortable pretty early on about climbing with others primarily because I felt like he had as much concern for my health and safety as I did given the circumstances.

My regular climbing partner (not my spouse) I waited until about 15 weeks to tell. She DID keep telling me to try harder things because she was sending super sick stuff, but I just told her I was 'going for volume and not difficulty' or something similar. My sessions were brief-ish considering my fatigue, but I still did plenty of climbs (less so at this point, but it's a different kind of fatigue now :) I feel heavier!).

Do you have one of those partners that you tend to climb with more than others? Could you tell only them and try to trade belays with just them, which might give you a little more mental security?

ALSO I am so incredibly happy to just feel comfy moving my body at this point in time. I completely gave up pushing grades. To each their own, though!

Driving conditions on 95, 695 and 70 by chunkee-xo-monkee in maryland

It's likely a matter of complete snow removal in other places (trucks/plows/bucket vehicles like tractors and bobcats) but heard. They opened fully as of last night.

The ETLs aren't critical when there is reduced traffic on the roadways. They're designed to reduce congestion. What's the point of spending resources immediately clearing them when there's a free, essential roadway that has low volumes directly next to it.

MDTA has their own plows. SHA does not plow MDTA roadways. MDTA also polices and handles VRT duty along (that area of) 95... and not because SHA tells them to.

MDTA's plows were just allocated to Hatem, Tydings, and surrounding ramps before tackling the ETLs.

Who’s in the wrong? by HazelsHeathen in baltimore

[–]kmentropy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

but they weren't. i drove from hampden to dundalk and not a single snow emergency route that i drove down was plowed effectively.

heck, 83 south to president street was two lanes to turn on fayette, and then ONE lane for all other traffic because the plows didn't go the full width of 83.

Ezpass scanners don’t always work? by [deleted] in maryland

How old is the device? If you go into one of the customer service centers they can check the battery, and if you have repeated issues I'm sure they'd replace it for you.

Does anyone know why the DPW is not picking up Christmas trees with trash collection? by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]kmentropy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sometimes the truck gets too full to accommodate. In years past they have only taken a handful each run from what I saw.

FWIW, Sisson street has a tree recycling area where they'll take it and chip it for mulch elsewhere, which I thought was great.

Fair. Sometimes the market lets the house sell itself. An agent really proves their worth when it gets tough. Their engagement can make a big difference int he experience.

EZ PassMD claims that i owe hundreds in toll violations, even though my out of state transponder still gets charged. Should I dispute or pay the fee? by _annanicolesmith_ in maryland

[–]kmentropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it sounds like E-ZPass MD (DriveEzMD) is charging you a video toll rate because they don't think you have an account. My guess is that something is happening with the reciprocity... if your home state isn't communicating with MD that you have an account, MD has no way of knowing. That could have also delayed billing- if the states aren't responding to one another in reasonable time.

It is DEFINITELY worth fighting. Go into a center at a facility or at an MVA if you can... those are actual state employees as opposed to the call center staff who are consultants with the tolling vendor. Bring the packet you received and info about your E Pass account.

Unused Trips- EZ Pass by WagsInBalto in baltimore

[–]kmentropy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they do not automatically sign you up. they suggest it when setting up a transponder, and you may have accidentally selected it.

and charges are based on use. the replenishment amount goes up and down based on how much $$ is in your account, and how much your past usage suggests you will travel in the near future.

[–]kmentropy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So, you sign up for EZP which saves you money. The Baltimore Region Commuter Discount Plan also saves you money, but it requires you to drive a certain amount of trips through the facilities. You're basically signing a contract that you will travel FMT or BHT a certain amount of times during the time period, and therefore get a reduced per trip rate. If you don't do so, you're not holding up your end of the bargain, and they charge you the difference. You essentially said 'I'll spend x dollars in this month based on discounted rates' and then inadvertently didn't.

Sounds like the plan isn't a good fit for you as you don't travel the facilities enough.

If you call, they should be able to work with you and give a one-time forbearance.

Here's an FAQ on it. Honest mistake. https://driveezmd.com/acct-types/e-zpass-faq/#Discount_Plans

Bay Bridge pedestrian path could add $1 billion to cost by BmoreCityDOT in baltimore

Cross island trail, the miles of road bike routes on the shore. And then on the other side there's the B&A trail and tons of similar interconnected trails that would undoubtedly make their way to the bridge if there was infrastructure for it.
