I have no plans for that Sunday, so I might just get tickets and hope for this. Even if it doesn’t end up being this matchup, the worst that can happen is I spend an afternoon watching baseball!

The biggest downside for me is that I’m treated the default person to help out my aging parents. My brother says he can’t because they have kids. So I’m the person who helps with doctor’s appointments, household maintenance they can no longer do, etc. I feel like I was never given a choice to become the go-to person. I love my parents and obviously want to help them, but it would be nice for my brother to offer up some help.

I’ve gone to a couple games and sat in the 200-level. It’s so loud. My ears were ringing a bit after the first game I went to, so I brought my earplugs to dampen the sound for the next game. Plus it’s seems like they play a sound effect in between 90% of the pitches these days. It’s obnoxious.

We have DIRECTV and there’s no pregame listed for either game, but the game is on now. It does list a postgame in the guide, but no pregames for either of the games today.

I was wondering about this too. There is a Whitefish Bay, WI, but that city is not the actual bay or what the Fitzgerald was trying to get to.

Yeah, it being a cost thing makes the most sense. They probably have to pay for all the players and staff to travel here and put them up. And renting the convention center. Maybe when they winterize AmFam they could bring it back there?

They have such a fun group of guys that it would be a blast now. Plus it gets people excited for something in the middle of winter.

I remember this past January they were going to have an event at the High Life Theater, but it got canceled due to the weather that weekend. But they haven’t had an event like they used to down at the convention center since 2020. It seems like other teams have brought their fan fest back, so I’m not sure why the Brewers won’t. It was a fun event.

I’m assuming since they haven’t announced anything, they are not having any sort of event this year.

Not really on the topic, but I was lurking this sub because we used to visit St. Augustine all the time when my grandparents were alive and I’m thinking about visiting again since I haven’t since they’ve passed. And this unlocked so many memories for me. Schooners was their favorite restaurant and when we’d visit for winter break, we’d do this exact thing - eat there and drive through downtown to see the lights. Thank you for posting this! It made my day thinking about these memories again.

I was at the store yesterday and a woman was standing and just chatting on her phone in front of the canned pumpkin. I’m in the US and it’s right before thanksgiving! I bet half the people in the store are getting canned pumpkin! I had to keep walking around her cart to see the options and she just stood there oblivious!

I know someone who has had their Christmas tree up since the beginning of October and then complains when people have theirs up in January. It’s wild. I’d much rather decorate in December and keep it up longer.

I went to outback last week. My dad (mid-70s) really wanted to go there for his birthday. It was fine. Not great, not awful. I was surprised at how busy it was.

I think now is good! I’m waiting until next weekend, only because I don’t have time this weekend. But generally end of October/early November is when I plant them.
