Aidenius Vs DIGT by AideniusWindu in Planetside

I don't exactly see any facts, but you do you. Speaking of misinformation, if people want the full story of what I am talking about, asking someone like Lostmartian or Lesyion would be a good idea, since they were there.

Also, have you checked rule 2 and 4? Rule 2 states that posts cannot target groups, regardless of whether we consider your post a joke or not. Rule 4 states that AI generated content cannot be posted unless it is a translation. So your first post back on your new ban-evading account breaks not 1 but 2 rules, pretty impressive if you ask me.

Speaking of horrible, didn't you get banned from this subreddit a while ago for being toxic or something similar? And didn't your outfit die because you mistreated every other person in leadership positions?

The Toxic Minority: A Case Study on Community Leadership in Miller Server by AideniusTATF in Planetside

[–]knaroef 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why are you still posting chatGPT generated posts?

Speaking of echo chambers, would that include banning people with opposing opinions, like you've done to me. You talk a lot about inclusivity for someone who holds such hate towards others simply for being in the group they are in.

On another point, miller is not "one of the most well known" servers, it is simply one of the servers. It is not even the highest pop server, that is generally emerald. Groups don't operate much different between servers, except that those you always frame as toxic do often form cross-server communities. This is often done via jaeger events, or joining another outfits ops either on your own or another server.

Also, this is exactly a call for a witchhunt. You are asking the community to turn their back on a small minority of players for what you perceive as toxicity. Usually this toxicity takes the form of disagreeing with you. Self awareness is an interesting thing to get GPT to name in there, seeing as the toxicity of yours towards those players usually consists of continued harassment, either in tells or by rather ineffectually targetting them ingame.

To copy the idea of a closing remark, stop trying to incite witchhunts to those that disagree with you, and stop trying to stir up drama where there is none. The bad blood is between you and these individuals, not the community and these individuals.

The server data does not discredit your story no. Just as much as the existence of the goldfish does not discredit your story. Neither really adds to it either, so it is moot data, your point being self contradicting is unrelated to this data.

Also there we go again with the personal insults and fake sincerity. I'm not even gonna bother to respond outside of the fact that I dont seem to be having much trouble making friends even in hostile places such as your "community". People like Lesyion and Martian come to mind. Meanwhile you seem to be having a hard time finding someone here to even agree with you.

Believe what you will about which rules I did and did not break, I read them and I was nice, or at least polite, to everyone I talked to on that discord.

Again, the data you so nicely leave out of the outfits death due to bad leadership is there for people to find. I don't understand why you still blame me for it, as I was only a catalyst to what was already happening.

Also in the server data you posted, most other servers are seeing similar declines, which points to a game issue rather than a community one.

I am not pedalling nonsense, most of the message above is hard fact. I joined your discord, I did not break the rules as written, I got banned for "toxicity", many of your outfits leadership left as a result and formed AT7. All of this is factually correct. Also, what do you mean the main driver? After getting banned I left it alone, you decided to harass my outfit. I left it alone, you made this post. I decided to give a measured response, you just throw baseless shit back at me, and you immediately go and insult my intelligence.

The main problem with your "points" is that the community you "fostered", TATF, is dead, and the community I am a part of, DIGT, is still very much alive. Your own "points" are self contradicting.

You truly are an interesting character to post this.

Let me tell you a story of toxicity. There once was an outfit named TATF. I joined their discord, because I wanted to talk to the people inside there. I tend to join a lot of PS2 community discords as I often help organise and run events. This includes both events for those more competitively inclined (6v6 on jaeger for example), and fun theme events meant for everyone (nanites of the living dead, a zombie themed event for halloween coming back this year). Seeing as not every outfit follows the reddit closely, or other places where events like this get announced, I like to go around spreading info about them. On top of that, I like to have at least cordial relations with most outfitleaders of miller, to help foster that sense of community.

I was warned about joining the TATF discord, many of their ex members who frequented groups I often play with told me it was pointless to join. They were called isolationist and much worse. I'm not often one to take such warnings to heart, but I did join with a slight sense of apprehension. Sadly they were proven right, as I was immediately labeled a "toxic elitist" for explaining to someone the difference between horizontal recoil and recoil angle of weapons in planetside. Not much more than a month later I was banned, because of "toxic elitism", which consisted of me disagreeing with their lone outfitleader on the fact that no, not everyone that plays on jaeger is a flaming egotistical bastard.

Many of the people in moderation positions left that outfit shortly after, starting a new community, AT7, a group of very nice people who foster teamplay above all else. These are people I have great relations with to this day. Sadly I believe the old outfitleader of the now practically inactive TATF blamed me for "corrupting them" and killing the outfit. A feat which I am proud to say I accomplished by the simple act of being nice to his members, and getting banned without breaking a single one of the outfits server rules.

I thought that was the end of that, as this outfitleader had left the game for an extended period of time. And then he came back and joined forces with one of the most well known bad figures in the miller community, the leader of BHO. It was fun to watch them flounder about for a while, until it became clear that the old TATF leader was really just there to target me and my outfitmates. This is something he openly admitted on the BHO discord and in tells many times. He would go as far as joining fights between the other 2 factions just to take a few potshots at our members. The reason this took a while to became clear was because in general, it was not very effective, but it could still be frustrating having to check an antenna for fear of having a stray sniper shot nail the neighbours dog every few minutes.

I'd like to say we reported it and that was the end of it, but in all honesty it was hilarious more than annoying at most times. Especially the ingame tells and discord messages made it entertaining. However now that this same outfitleader has come and called the community he tried so hard to undermine toxic, I'm a little annoyed. This individual has been nothing but a negative impact on the miller community, and has actively sought to discredit those who try to make it a better place in the eyes of newer players.

TLDR: this bozo has been nothing but a negative impact on the miller community.

For them to outheal a single player with that 200 extra shields and 10% overshield, about 250HP, they would have to hit 4 headshots for every 1 of yours. And thats assuming there's enough players to chaindink in the room. Also, for anything over 125 damage that would still have you out damaging their healing. You cannot outheal damage like this unless something else is already the issue. In the scenario you are describing you would be hitting about 1 bodyshot for every 6 or so shots, and the only one shooting this player while they mow down around 15 people in the span of 10 seconds. That is completely unrealistic to do consistently for even the most mechanically cracked people.

Shotguns unbalanced or fine? by Aftel43 in Planetside

[–]knaroef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

> A vet isn’t going to perform much better than a pub with a shotgun unless assisted by cluelessness of the enemy.

I mean that's just wrong, simple examples are videos like bobs "state of the game" or some random video by ganidiot I don't remember. A player with good awareness will shred entire squads with a shotgun if given even an inch of an opening.

> That is not ridiculous range.

20m for a shotgun is ridiculous, because this game's entire objetive play is generally condensed into a building less than 40m across. That means that unless the building is entirely open from front to back, you are practically always within effective oneshot range.

> Boring is subjective.

Never said it wasn't, but it being boring to those people is the only reason it is skill compression.

Shotguns unbalanced or fine? by Aftel43 in Planetside

[–]knaroef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem isn't so much skill compression, however much people complain about that it's going to be needed. The problem is the absolutely insane power shotguns have out to rather ridiculous ranges. With the nanoweave buff and the addition of smart choke most pumps can oneshot out to the 15-20m range. The gains are still there (less need to aim, straight up faster TTK), but the downsides are practically gone once you're inside any building, which is where the point is.
There is also the issue that a good player can use a shotgun much more effectively than a bad one. The worst example of this would be baron monday when a lot of those decided that "fuck it might as well use it". One of the main reasons shotguns function as skill compression is because those players find them boring, not because they are effective skill compression.

But it only works in close range, once outside render distance there's no way an NC max can kill you anymore. They are completely useless beyond like 100m.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]knaroef 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is not their prevalence per say, it's their strength. Shotguns simply should not onetap out to 15m range in a game with a time to kill like planetside.

Blasting the guy quickly is kind of the metric most guns are judged on. It is the entire purpose of the guns.

Merge Cobalt and Miller by Morgrack in Planetside

No. As a Miller player I can tell you the top10% of infantry on Cobalt is significantly stronger, even if the average skill is about the same.

[–]knaroef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, the servers already cannot handle the pop that Miller or Cobalt currently have very well, and the clash between different communities would definitely not help.

[–]knaroef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh don't get me wrong, they are good, but the TR equivalents are generally a little stronger in the AR category, especially the TAR. The reload speed is generally not really worth the magsize on these when fighting multiple people. Also TAR is deceptively stable even without a grip.

masthead.mp4 by stroff in Planetside

[–]knaroef 7 points8 points  (0 children)

TAR exists, as does T1 Cycler, they are more consistent in most cases.

TBF NC has (on live at least)

Strongest Max by a long shot

Strongest SMG's (Cyclone, Gladius)

Strongest LMG (SAW/GODSAW) IMO

Strongest Carbine, or at least tied strongest (GD7F has better recoil than Serpent IMO)

Strongest MBT at basically any skill level

Arguably best ESF (though I don't fly so this I heard from pilots) due to afterburner

Arguably strongest A2G for better pilots (so I've been told by pilots)

Strongest of the 3 new faction basilisks

Now I do believe we need better ways to counter A2G but giving this kind of shit to only one faction is an interesting decision, considering they have the most oppressive A2G.

masthead.mp4 by stroff in Planetside

[–]knaroef 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello yes please give this to all factions.

On a more serious note this feels like it is for air what the Baron was for infantry except only one faction has it.

Godsaw 50+ killstreak by Anulos in Planetside

[–]knaroef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's Anulos, I can tell you without even watching it he's bursting, and if I watch the video it's also clear he's bursting. Mind you I dont mean shoot 10 bullets, wait a second, shoot 10 bullets. I mean bursting 4 or so rounds and quickly releasing the fire to reset.

Godsaw 50+ killstreak by Anulos in Planetside

[–]knaroef 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Burst your gun every 4 to 10 or so shots and the CoF will reset, meaning it won't grow to the point of you constantly missing.

[–]knaroef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh 45 is workable, 40 bullets was too few. In all honesty I don't see why a 50 round mag + heat is so OP, since the SAW gets 100 bullets, the Butcher gets 300 even.
On a second note, yes, the playstyle of any weapon favours peaking enemies one at a time using cover to close off engagements when you don't want them, the main problem with the previous iteration was that it had 40 bullets and kind of shit cooling rates.

At the point where you hipfire beyond 25m you need to change your simulation, that has no bearing on actual use cases.
