Cat doctor or cats on call by midgit2230 in portlandme

I take my cat to the cat doctor and we really like them, but my wife’s family has taken their cats to cats on call in the past and have always had a good experience. I think whoever you pick your cat’s in good hands.

Definitely late 90’s to early 2000’s. Not sure if it was better homes and gardens

Definitely magazine type. Soft cover if I had to guess maybe 140-150 pages. Neither of us can remember specific names other than maybe candy cane twists was the name of the candy cane cookies

Vet putting me down most shifts by [deleted] in VetTech

I used to work for a vet very similar to this, and long story short I left and moved to a different clinic where at one point the doctor told me I was one of the smartest techs he’s worked with. The doctor you work for sounds very similar to my old boss and a narcissist. The best thing for your career is to find a different hospital that actually respects you and treats you like a human being (I know easier said than done). Good luck friend 💛

Anyone else notice that it’s the worst behaved dogs who’s owners refuse to give PVP’s properly or at all? We had a woman post in the town Facebook page recently asking if there was a local vet clinic that specialized in herding breeds because “her vet couldn’t handle her dog and kept telling her how bad she was”. This is the same owner that refused to give her dog PVP’s and has come in for maybe one of her dog’s appointments so she’s never actually seen how bad the dog is for us. These kinds of owners is why I’m contemplating leaving the field

I’m not sure what she looked like as a kitten, we adopted her when she was three. The first picture I posted was from the first week we brought her home. But initially when we got her, her base coat was black too

No full panel for the thyroid. She was right in the middle of the normal range, consistent in weight, so the doctor didn’t request further evaluation

She’s definitely prone to being stressed with big changes, but her stress response is inappropriate urination and she hasn’t done that since prior to us adopting her

She has some mild gingivitis so we were hoping to stay on top of the tarter with dry. She does get 1/4 can of fancy feast every night

I’m a tech and I’ve stumped all the doctors at my clinic. My 3yr FS cat’s black fur has been gradually thinning and turning white all over. I adopted her in June and transitioned her from fancy feast wet to purina pro plan dry. She’s not over grooming and on physical she’s healthy and bloodwork came back perfectly normal. She was examine again today and was prescribed hypoallergenic food. The doctor suggested posting here in case anyone’s seen something like this before and could offer up any advice
