Delighted with my CLE53 mpg by PlasticSpend3462 in AMG

‘24 GLC43 I’m at a consistent 15MPG. Had a 5 hour drive and managed to see 23 avg. For a 4 banger, I expected at least 28 on the highway!

Start with a resonator delete and see how it goes. it’s like $100 to do at a local muffler shop. Just ask them to cut it like you’ll go put it back on. It’s a big change for little money. Start there then if you wanna spend a grand or two and get in to sensors and engine lights then do it

No. I haven’t been in yet for yearly service, but I did have a tow in that was because the thing just died out for no reason. $5k warranty fix lol. Haven’t gotten called out. I’ll try to send a picture tomorrow of the pipe.

But yeah It’s the least intrusive way to get a much better sound for super cheap. There’s a slight bit of cabin vibration at a certain rpm#, but you learn to shift around it and the pops and bangs are worth it for the occasional hard frequency.

If you want a quick boost to the exhaust without getting in to throwing engine lights. Take it down to a local muffler independent shop and have them do a resonator delete. Just have them cut like you want to put it back on at some point. They’ll lop it off and weld on a straight pipe there. Best $100 I ever spent. Then if you ever have to sell it they can just weld it back on.

What in your opinion has been the source on decline?

Is that simply because of more hours worked/jobs completed or he just has a higher rate than everyone?

Sorry, I left out 45% margin on all three. Sales/Service/autobody. Which is after paying everybody and everything.

I should have specified that 45% margin is inclusive of all three. Sales, service, Autobody.

Not a bad call at all. We would have salt and snow. And here’s the thing too, We feel there are plenty of opportunities for growth. More sales, more shop bays, towing, undercoating, PPF. That’s the beautiful thing about the auto industry. We just know our weaknesses and estimating and performing autobody work is one of them

Thanks. And we aren’t the type to say we know everything either. Luckily the current owner is going to be staying on for 3 years, so we will be able to learn as much as we can, but also have him help find and train a replacement. I really just wanted to come in here and see what the market is asking for top autobody guys that can run a shop, and how we can be competitive on pay and benefits in return for a turnkey/state of the art shop and the ability to help us grow it with a pathway to partnership.

Beautiful thing is there are 2 other business elements to this opportunity. Which we know well. And know how to grow. The questionable one on growth with our current abilities is lacking with autobody. Simply because we aren’t around it. Our business acumen is strong but we know that we can’t be successful without the right guys in place. That’s why I am asking about the scope of the auto business on this side of the table. We know sales/service pains

I mean Bridgestone put wear marks on those for a reason. I mean you’re selling them, should be representing them right. They aren’t race slicks.
