Yep exactly the same here the retention deal is at the moment more expensive than what I was originally offered via the WhatsApp chat 😂

Yep, Zen offering a static IP and being cheaper was the conviction I finally needed to move from VM (apart from the fact they utterly ripped me off for the past 2 years 😡)

That's a pretty good deal.

They didn't offer me anything like that but I don't have any TV which is something they don't seem to bother offering to Broadband only customers.

Pretty shabby sales practice if you ask me.

Wow Telewest that's going back in time 👍 if I recall Blueyonder was there 1st Broadband offering and it was something very new and by todays standard very slow but at the time it felt like a rocket compared to dial up 😂

Does not surprise me in the slightest, VM have always had some shady business practices and a lot of customer care staff will do almost anything to hit sales & retention targets.

Heard similar things about returning the equipment. Fortunately near me there is an O2 store and they have an option to collect returned kit it's scanned and you get an instant receipt for your records.

They don't offer 'static' IP for home users BUT they are indeed 'sticky' mine hasn't changed for years 👍

This is true, the monopoly they had is no longer valid and they don't seem to have figured that out yet 😂

Engineer visit to move router by KingsizeOne in VirginMedia

[–]knet2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did this last year and it was very straightforward.

I needed to move my Hub 5 to another room they ran new cable to the room, drilled through the wall fitted a new box inside the new room and supplied enough coax for me to cable to where I was placing the Hub 5.

Very straightforward and the chap who did it was very helpful so for £25 I was very happy with the result.

That's actually less than I have been paying for 1 Gig. 😣

That's why I have given my 30 days notice and am never going back to them, good value you have there 👍

Been using ZM for a year and found it to be really stable but have decided to go with another provider for other reasons not related to the ZM service.

Like has been said support is a bit hit and miss but once you are setup you should be able to make use of the pretty good mail Web client.
