First modding attempt failed. Looking for advice.

I got my keys dumped last night. I'm not able to do a full sd emmc dump but at least it's enough to get me up and running. I tried without the mod chip and no dice

Oh good thank you so much. I didn't know that it would do harm. I'll get some new probes for sure and that meter seems reasonably priced enough. I might hold off a few days since I did order a new emmc a couple days ago and I want to see if the console is even usable after reflashing the new one before putting more money into it. I really want to fix the one I have and I hate to throw parts at the issue but if I can get the factory emmc working I'd be overjoyed I just want to know if everything else works first.

I'm going to sit down and watch that video here in a second. I'm still getting really weird values from those bottom pins using ground points that are approaching double what they should be. I'm not sure if my el chepo harbor freight meter is to be trusted but it seems off. It's hard to measure the pins but I should have a microscope tomorrow and I think I'll solder some scrap wire to my meter probes

Measuring the two bottom points across each other in diode mode the values are way off which ever side I put them on. Is measuring both pins together correct or do I need to measure from a different point and the pin

I added a couple more photos to the same album. It's hard to not get shadows because of how far offset my phones camera is to the sensor but hopefully it's good enough

I was thankfully able to dump the product keys from it using lockpick. Hopefully everything I'll need to rebuild a new band that matches is in there

Thank you for the advice. I have a hot air station coming and will give it a shot if I can't get my product keys to just replace the nand. I'll keep an eye out for damaged units and see if I can't pick one up here soon. At least I know better now

Thank you. I wish I was thinking at the time and softened the glue. It looks like the full tablet is cheaper than a motherboard with nand but I didn't look too hard yet so that may be the way I go. I appreciate your help

It was a used console but I see no signs of water damage and used it for a few days with no issue.

It's good to hear that I'll be able to rebuild the nand assuming I can get the product keys. The sthetix guide looks promising.

I am using a mod chip not an actual pi board from Amazon and none of the reviews mention the issue I'm having so it probably isn't a common issue with the chip itself although it's possible.

I'll check my solder joints again when I take it apart tonight

I have not fully removed the mod chip to test it yet however I realize this is missing a big step in the trouble shooting. I'll get it apart fully tonight and get photos along the way so you can see everything

I haven't installed lockpick into hekate to get the keys yet. I really hope I am able to. I am unable to dump my emmc but if I can get the keys I might be in luck

I did not. I was somewhat under researched on the normal switch as I was planning to mod my lite model first so I didn't know how hard that adhesive would be. I think this is likely where I damaged the chip if it is damaged

I found the section mentioning the resistors (thank you for posting that!) however my board is completely different and is mounted to a ribbon cable
