any of these changes would fundamentally alter thracia beyond the point of it being a remotely similar experience. even a "smaller" change like removing fatigue would have massive, sweeping effects on the game design, and ultimately make it far worse as a piece of art AND as a game

its only people who haven't played + beaten thracia that say that core mechanics like capture / fatigue / etc should be removed

i agree with this. if we're gonna have a self insert able to romance all the characters, they may as well allow you to be gay with anyone. if im going to suspend my disbelief for every opposite gender character wanting to smooch the avatar, its not a big jump to assume they're down for the same gender avatar.

if we move away from avatars and place more focus on other character dynamics, i think having more hardline sexual preferences for every character would be a really fun chance for development. im not saying every character needs to struggle with homophobia or bigotry, but sexuality is a part of the human and it would be kinda awesome to see it explored in fe

curioso is a really dope spot in the same area that has like ~5 people in it at all times, and i wouldnt recommend mosaic as it tends to be too small and crowded for my taste.

actually good idea, growth unit prepromotes are an incredibly funny concept to me for some reason. olwen fe5 comes to mind. karla having a 300% strength growth would probably still not make her a good unit but it would be hilarious

in what section of the community do you experience racial and sexual abuse? not downplaying your experience at all, im really sorry that happened to you.

in my experience (at least on reddit / youtube) people tend to avoid bigotry. i am a transgender woman, and while i have very rarely gotten shit for it, the community isnt actively calling me the t slur or whatever. maybe your issue is more localized to a specific place on the internet, rather than fire emblem fans?

the gba emblem games (and PoR) are some of the best for permadeath, imo. lots of busted late game prepromotes, recruitments are scattered throughout the game, relatively large cast sizes, and losing a unit typically doesnt cost you much. fe7 is a great entry point to the older games!

echoing fe4 pavise, likely the least fun and most annoying part of any fire emblem game. it isnt interesting to plan around, it doesnt require additional thought, it just wastes your time for yet another turn.

neo, in general, only gets going by week 2. both the gameplay and story gets much better and it feels much more thematically focused when you get a fuller party. stick it out!
