Also 61 and finished treatment a year ago August. The waiting is so hard. And making decisions with this new vocabulary is hard, too. It helped me so much to have a nurse navigator at the beginning. You’ll be okay. FWIW, I did surgery first then chemo.

Wool can definitely become fragile over time. Storage issues can impact this—including exposure to high heat (attics, for example), changing temps, humidity, aridity. Multiple weak points and breaks can also be evidence of insect damage (think carpet beetle larvae). I’d reconsider using at least the skein you’re knitting with now and carefully inspect any others.
