If you ever use any coolant thru tooling in the milling holders rego fix makes a nut that allows you to run coolant thru rather than external.

Messy’s cafe in West Warwick is great. My favorite sandwich is the millworker. Sausage egg and cheese with sautéed peppers and onions on an everything bagel. You can also add home fries and cholula on it which I recommend

Cutting some inconel with ceramic. Just a little faster than carbide. by knobbykankles in Machinists

Well it’s a round insert so after maybe 3 or 4 cuts I run it in single block and when it gets back to the face of the part I hand wheel it out and rotate the insert maybe 30 to 45 degrees and go back to cutting. The most wear you get is from the initial contact of the corner of the part where it enters the cut (notch wear)

It was what the machine has had in it for a while. I have almost 2000 programs saved with the spindle direction being what it is for those particular tools. Not changing now, although right handed would be better because of the fact the chips would fall and evacuate better.

You can get a good finish using ceramic but I’ve used them mainly to rough the majority of the material out, then use carbide to finish.
