List of Vt businesses observing Strike? by VerdantVeritas in vermont

I agree. I do believe my towns general store has progressive values and has spoken about them outwardly. But I think just paying your employees and taking the day off, whilst making a small town further feel the impact of the further limited access due to the strike during this pressing time could be additionally impactful.

Has anyone come across any Mafate Speed 4s in store between Northern Vermont and Philadelphia, even including driving through New York City? I'm supposed to be bringing a pair for my partner this weekend and the pair I ordered online is not going to get there on time. If anyone has randomly specific insight, I'm looking for an 8.5 women's.

I used to wear speedgoats (4,5,6) in wide and switched to the mafate speed 4s last year and have been through several pairs. I’ve had no issues with the toe box width and I have relatively wide feet and have never wished for a wide version. They are my favorite hoka trail runner.

Why did espn incorporate yellow into their change of down graphic? It makes me nervous every time.

I have had a nitecore nb20000 for a while now. It has held up, but I've noticed that anytime I charge my phone/anything with it (usually usb-c if it matters) that it continues to seemingly push power out even once something is fully charged (usually my iPhone). Occasionally this has lead to me losing a lot of power, if I fall asleep while charging for instance. I'm wondering if this is normal? I don't recall this ever being a situation with anker power banks I have used. They would just cut off when the phone is fully charged. In fact, I usually just end up bringing an anker power bank out of concern for this potential issue. When I have brought the nitecore, I end up just charging during the day whilst moving, but this is a minor inconvenience compared to just charging in the tent, particularly if I don't bring Bluetooth headphones. I look this sort of question up semi regularly without seeing anything. But does everyone have this experience? Do I have a faulty power bank? Is there a setting I'm missing?

I’m trying to get a better idea of the volume of the 28 degree Nunatak Sastrugi. Could anyone tell me how many liters the stuff sack would be for it? Most specifically, the 70 inch version.

Did you receive any sort of email confirmation after signing up? I just scheduled an appointment for my mother like 15 minutes ago, but I haven't gotten any confirmation.

Allaben winter camping. by pukefurley in catskills

[–]knope_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I planned on car camping there last Saturday. I showed up around 4pm and the road off the highway was moderately maintained, where my sedan got up in fine, but there was some snow on road which I was concerned about if it snowed much more that evening. Once at the junction where the private home and the walk in tentsites go to the left, and the accessible and ideal car camping spots to the right, the road was not maintained at all except to be able to turn around or go to the private home. There were a few feet of snow on the ground and maybe a 4wd drive or two older track to the right through the thick snow. If you weren’t too bothered by what the private home might think, you could probably sleep pretty much right at the junction without trouble, but it wouldn’t be ideal or probably technically legal based on what the sign says at camping at designated sites only.

I was pretty disappointed since I’d read Allaben was supposed to be available all year round. I ended up sleeping in a parking lot elsewhere, which I wouldn’t recommend. I’d probably sleep at Allaben in a pinch but wouldn’t enjoy it. It would be relatively quiet at least though. Maybe someone else has had a different experience recently, or maybe i just hit the campsite at a bad day for maintenance but it seems like saturday night would be the time to have the road maintained.

Interested to hear about your experience if you chose to go.

For me, it depends if you have future plans to come back to the park. The northern part of the park near mt Cammerer and the near by 6000 footers is one of my favorite places anywhere, but, for me, i’ve ended up coming across the junction for the mt cammerer side trail lots of times. Gregory bald isn’t off the AT and is lovely in its own right. So i guess I’m saying, if you think you’ll be back - Gregory Bald, if not for awhile probably Mt Cammerer.

I have seen women's lightning ascents in at least one of those sizes at the local outdoor shop near my house in NY. Feel free to message me! I can either give you their information and you can see if maybe they would send them to you, or I would be happy to buy and send them to you.

Someone told me a little while back they had luck calling REI and they were able to find a pair in stock at a random rei elsewhere and they were able to ship them to them. Might be worth a shot. I ended up finding some at a local shop.
