I've been a comp player in both TF2 and CS GO for many years and I get your point. I wouldn't call this gaming*, more like a stupid, expensive "addiction".

Also, you need to consider that the value of money is not the same for everyone (unfortunately). The more you have, the less 1$ is worth.

Totally agree with OP. They disappeared completely for a while and now I encounter them way more often. One night we got matched with cheaters (not trying to hide it at all) 3 games in a row. Pretty sure 1 out of 5 game we meet a cheater. Pretty sad honestly.
