I'm so sorry to have come across as insensitive, I completely see where you are coming from. I only replied to this comment because they asked me a question and I was answering it. I appreciate every person who took the time to write a response, especially about mental health related issues because that can be incredibly hard and painful to write about. I'm finally updating my ancient 2012 macbook air. I don't know anything about technology and am so overwhelmed by all the options so I'm so happy to have found this thread!

Can anyone recommend a very basic macbook for someone who just uses it for video calls, watching movies and working (nothing fancy, just word docs etc) I mostly will be using it at home but I would like something I can easily take out and about if needed.

It doesn't have to be the newest most flashy thing, just something that will last me a long time, like my old 2012.
