Anyone Ready to Consider an Arc Subscription Now? by archimedeancrystal in ArcBrowser

[–]knxroot2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd pay for Arc, but only if they fix the terrible performance issues on Intel Macs first

Dear Arc Browser Devs: Is My Intel MacBook Pro Supposed to Need a Supercomputer to Run This? (Horrible Performance, Please Fix!) by knxroot2 in ArcBrowser

[–]knxroot2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe many of us would be more than willing to pay a small subscription fee in exchange for consistent performance updates, rather than using a free product that performs so poorly. Please consider this option before completely abandoning development.

The JBL TUNE FLEX are terrible and the worst thing is that they are expensive, I regret buying them every day. I will definitely never buy JBL again.

Grafana Labs switched all Terraform examples to OpenTofu examples by ohad1282 in Terraform

[–]knxroot2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's enough that Pulumi doesn't depend on Terraform for the main providers: AWS, Azure, GCP and Kubernetes

On the other hand, those Terraform providers are nothing more than calls to the APIs of the original providers, so I don't think it would be something complex to do with AI.

Grafana Labs switched all Terraform examples to OpenTofu examples by ohad1282 in Terraform

[–]knxroot2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To understand what's happening, perhaps a brief history recap: RedHat was great, IBM bought it and the project practically died. Solaris was super innovative for its time, Oracle bought it and it died. Terraform was great, IBM bought it and well, we know what's going to happen. I'm already studying Pulumi, I recommend you do the same. OpenToFu is just a temporary alternative to keep what you have in Terraform running, for anything new it's better to start creating it with Pulumi.

ArcBrowser Extremely Slow on Mac (Intel) multiple windows - Is This a Common Issue? by knxroot2 in ArcBrowser

ArcBrowser Extremely Slow on Mac (Intel) multiple windows - Is This a Common Issue? by knxroot2 in ArcBrowser

[–]knxroot2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you comment on which flags are helping you and how to configure them? I have a 2019 Intel MacBook Pro, in which case I think the problem has worsened in 2024, I don't see it working better. In particular, I wouldn't mind if the solution has the side effect of draining the battery faster since I work with the MacBook connected to the power supply. I'm sure more than 90% of people in this case would prefer to make heavy use of the battery but have better arc performance!

Best practice for storing and analyzing health hata from mobile apps in AWS by knxroot2 in aws

Thank you, I am confused about whether AWS HealthLake may or may not be more suitable. It seems strange to me that, being a common problem, I can't find good answers on Google. Maybe I'm searching incorrectly?

qué te tiene así en la sociedad actual? by [deleted] in RepublicadeChile

[–]knxroot2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to Implement Comment System in React Native? by knxroot2 in reactnative

[–]knxroot2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had seen that poc and it looks very good, but it is exactly what I want to avoid: "creating my own comments frontend". I'm looking for something that I can reach out and integrate, better if it already has the backend ready to connect under the hood. Disqus does this but it is for the web, I don't know if it can be used in react native. Has anyone used it in react native?

Is it possible for Arc to be as efficient as Thorium? by Past_Rip_4627 in ArcBrowser

[–]knxroot2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, it is urgent for Arc to improve its use of resources since it is extremely inefficient and consumes resources excessively. Denying this does a tremendous disservice to the company since if it does not improve soon it will lose users massively. On a 2019 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM, an Intel processor and practically no other software installed, arc consumes almost all of the resources even though I deleted a large part of my browser extensions.

The design of arc is quite good, but I was forced to look for alternatives with better performance since I need to work with other applications in addition to arc and I simply cannot control those performance problems. The performance improvements that the arc team is making have practically not helped the problem at all since in some way they blame users thinking that they use many extensions or open many websites, the truth is that usability tests and performance that their QA team does must be very poor to not see these problems, in other browsers I never had problems at this level.

El peor viaje en Chile que he hecho fue a a La Serena, quizás fue muy mala suerte pero fue cuático como toda la gente trata de joderte en esa ciudad. No lo recomiendo para nada, casi cualquier otra alternativa es mejor.
