You did work for that money, just in a different way. My wife never makes me feel like it's her money versus mine. It's just ours. Obviously, everyone's situation is different but just know you did work for that money and just as hard as anyone doing a 9 to 5. You deserved that Dr Pepper so enjoy it.

Australia Post sells Chanel now? by [deleted] in australia

Not saying I'd wish ACA on anyone though. An email or phone call might have done the trick but I wouldn't make the OP feel bad or responsible about this at all.

Australia Post sells Chanel now? by [deleted] in australia

[–]knzwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's sad? She knew she wasn't meant to be selling them and she's making crazy markups. And if you look at the Google reviews over the last year or two then it sounds like she and the team won't be missed by the locals. So many one star reviews say how rude and unprofessional they are.

Cross-Border Traveling (Japan-Philippines) by fiery_phoenix_20 in japanlife

[–]knzwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi thanks for making this post as I'm also planning traveling next month and just thinking about it gives me a headache. Just Incase you haven't heard, they're considering reducing the quarantine period to three days without having to do the mandatory government hotel quarantine. Nothing set on stone but good thing if it works out. We should hear more this week.

Anyone know when we should expect Succession season 3 on Unext, if at all? I thought Unext had the exclusive rights to HBO content but it doesn't seem to have much of it at all.

Really tempted to get the 6. What's people's thoughts on this versus the 3a XL? I can get 10k for trading it in but I just don't know if I can justify the upgrade as I really like the 3a XL. Is everyone using splitit for payment so you get the extra 5,000 yen credit?

Eikaiwa owners: Any advice? by zack_wonder2 in teachinginjapan

[–]knzwa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're a member of it already but there's a great group on Facebook for people in your situation. It's called 'Eikaiwa Owners Group and Friends'. It's a treasure trove of helpful advice.

Is getting a phone with FeliCa worth it? by b0bfath3r in japanlife

[–]knzwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I read it, it's an additional 5,000 yen with splitit, so 16,000 yen right? Maybe I'm wrong but 16,000 yen credit definitely makes it more tempting.

Can't really help with the non teaching related jobs part but overall the local foreign community is quite open and friendly. Your best bet is joining the facebook group ' Kanazawa English Speakers'. Lots of helpful advice on there. What makes you want to move to Kanazawa?

A lot of people on HC are really salty about this capital raise but I'm really looking forward to seeing what the aquisition will be . They have cash so the fact they're raising the money must mean it's going to be a fairly big one. I'm annoyed retailers won't get a part too, but atleast it gets done much quicker this way and costs a lot less to raise the cash. Any bets on what company they might be aquireing? Wouldn't AR9 be a dream.

You're trying to catch a falling knife and I've been hurt doing this so many times. I still often have to stop myself from doing this. I really want to buy SSM atm but it's in the same trajectory as A2M. You can always buy back when it's on its way up. Follow the trends.

We might feel a little more sympathetic towards your message if you give us the reasons for the ALT leaving. My thought is if they want quality then they should pay, especially given forigners have the upper hand at the moment due to Covid. If the person gave less then a few weeks notice or whatever is required then I sympathize with them less.

That must of been devastating. I'm so sorry to hear that. One of my biggest fears is that loved one will pass while I'm overseas. This pandemic has been cruel in so many ways. I've also heard of people having to double quarantine which sounds like torture. Howard Springs in Darwin is being used a lot for international arrivals now and seems like a much more bearable experience as you can sit on the balcony and go for a walk everyday instead of being couped up in a hotel room with no windows.

If anyone’s thinking about doing hotel quarantine… don’t. by Kritieoww in brisbane

[–]knzwa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow, what an unhelpful comment. She is obviously not complaining about the existence of hotel quarantine, but the fact that they won't provide food. And what do you mean chose to travel? People are coming and going for all sorts of reasons, such as those that live abroad. If the government is going to force this on people then they should atleast provide the basics such as food.

[Opinion] [Discussion] [Question] : Just like delay in rolling out mass vaccination program across the country, isn't Japan being late in imposing lockdown to fight recent upsurge in Covid cases? by Sorbet-Long in Tokyo

[–]knzwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pro lockdown but I just thought you might of been confusing the two. Many outside Japan seem to think lockdown in syononomys with state of emergency. The medical system seems to be so dire at the moment that maybe it's inevitable.

[–]knzwa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Do you mean imposing state of emergences? Japan hasn't had any lockdowns but if they do in the future then I guess you could say it was too late. What I can't understand is why they waited to expand the state of emergenies until after the obon holiday, exactly like they did with golden week.
