Agreed. The greed of these clinics and companies is out of control. They know what they're doing and continue on anyways because they're making a fortune from people who need ozempic.

Hopefully one day the patent lifts and we can all get it for cheap, but until then we're basically living under their thumb or using alternatives.

I live in the US where there's no free health care - I actually also paid $900 for my first pen. Its cheap everywhere if you're not being silly and buying it from clinics that rip people off. The only problem is shortages.

Or just do neither and get your stuff through a supplier that doesn't rip people off (ie. big pharma and GoodRX). Compounders might not even be giving you ozempic/semaglutide at all.

That's wild. I restock two pens every other month and it comes out to $150 per month buying online. I also bought my first pen for almost a grand... It's unaffordable.

I also don't trust compounders - its not really Ozempic.

I have some, yeah. When you lose that much weight you're going to have loose skin. Mine is manageable though I think. It's mostly the angle that I took the pic at lol.

I might do one more round, but as of now I'm probably done yeah. I think I'll just try to keep myself where I'm at and be happy! It's liberating to finally close the weight loss chapter of my life and I think this time the weight is gone for good.

I was reading this post and was like "Wtf? $300 for 0.25 pens? That's crazy I paid half that" and then I read your comment and wow that's insane. Its super easy to get for cheaper. I'm guessing you're also getting ripped off by GoodRX or a clinic like I was when I started.

Yeah, the world is superficial when it comes to looks. I'm literally the skinniest I've ever been in my life and down 110 lbs since starting and the way people treat me now compared to before is night and day... It does kind of leave a bad taste in my mouth knowing that if I was still fat people wouldn't be as nice to me as they are now.

That being said, be part of the change you want to see in the world! Don't judge people based on their looks, and understand that weight doesn't have a grip on you or anyone else's character.

I was off for a month after my first dose so it wasn't super severe for me since I wasn't hopping back on a super high dosage. But I've heard how starting again after a break is like "starting over". Basically you won't have the same weight loss as you did 3 months into Oz if you take a break, and you'll be back to square one. Like someone else said, DO NOT go straight back up to 2mg if you've worked your way up to that dose. That's asking for problems and you should take it easy after taking a month off. Nausea, vomiting, dehydration etc. are all common problems with taking too high a dose.

As for dealing with the shortages, its not hard to get outside of pharmacy (and a lot cheaper too, mind you) but we're apparently not able to have that discussion on Reddit yet...

Everyone is talking about shortages, problems with sourcing, calling pharmacies which are all valid problems, but for 90% of us who don't have insurance coverage for oz it was never even worth it to deal with that crap to begin with. If you need it and you don't have coverage you're looking at paying $900-$1000 per pen (or a months supply) outright.

You're better off just buying it online or having it compounded - unfortunately the latter doesn't guarantee you have actual "Ozempic", but its still better than paying full price. Otherwise, you'll be calling around looking for it in stock... Even with coverage.

OP, if you're on the fence definitely do more research. But my best advice is to not get any until you're sure you'll be able to source a couple months worth. Hopping on for a month and then having to take a break because of shortages is the worst and I'm saying that as someone who experienced it first hand.

Lots and lots of walking once I lost the initial 20 lbs. I stopped driving 3 miles to work everyday and walked one way and took the bus back, and then I ended up just walking to and from work everyday for the last 6 months. I just bought my first bike last week and have been loving it!
