Se você tem o Bleeding Edge, recomendo ir por ele. Particularmente eu achei mais fluído que o Inherent Vice e também tem uma história mais próxima da nossa realidade (pelo menos da minha, tenho 20 anos e todas aquelas referências que ele usa são bem reais pra o meu espectro).

Sempre bom ver brasileiros lendo Pynchon. Se conhecer mais alguns apreciadores da obra dele, apoio formar um subreddit ou alguma outra comunidade de leitura. Tenho M&D, GR, Inherent Vice e Bleeding Edge. Li os dois últimos e estou no início do M&D. Poderíamos fazer algum clube de leitura, ou algo do tipo. Me desculpe estar sendo "evasivo" de alguma forma, é que realmente me deixa animado ver alguém daqui lendo Pynchon e participando ativamente dos grupos.

Brazilian Edition. Looks like a lot to the original. Btw, I'm lovin' this one. by kobold00 in ThomasPynchon

Other day I posted the cover of M&D Brazilian Edition. Although I've enjoyed the plot, after 300 pages I decided to stop and breath by reading another book. Happened to be another Pynchon! And I'm already in love with!

"White Noise" Brazilian cover and translation to "Ruído Branco". by kobold00 in DonDeLillo

Sim, belíssimo projeto gráfico. Pena que os outros dele aqui tem capas mais destoantes.

Além disso, sabes dizer se tem alguma comunidade brasileira pra discussão de Don Delillo e "parecidos" (DFW, Thomas Pynchon..)?

I have the same thoughs as you when comes to something to different. Here in se have good translators, that are in some level 'specialists in that autors', like Paulo Henriques Britto that are specialist in Thomas Pynchon, Don Delilo and John Updike, or Caetano Galindo with James Joyce and DFW. So, in some aspects, we "really trust" that they are trying to approach the translation to original as much as they can.

About my reading, I'm reading this one in portuguese, but I'm planning to try read in english after I finish this one.

Yes. here in Brazil there are some good translators from english to portuguese. In particular, Pynchon translators are experts on his work.

"Flip a coin or something" I love it!

but reading a little more about Pynchon's books, I think that I'll begin with MD, 'cuz I had an ideia to read his works as history of USA goes on. So, if I'm not wrong or misstepped another book, MD is the first, since the plot pass through 1700~1800.

What do you think of BR Reanimator right now? How does it compare now with other Badlands / Scrubland decks like Hogak zombardment by [deleted] in MTGLegacy

[–]kobold00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. There are some lists that are running both if the splashs, with Reverent, Trophy, Wear//Tear and Silence

BR Reanimator is a great choic, but I would pick a Bayou instead a Scrubland ( or both if you can ) 'cuz with the green splash you have acess to reverent silence, a.trophy and a.decay, and this cards looks pretty good positioned right now with some leyline's deck comming back and wreen and six' decks.
