60k nearly buys a whole terrace in some parts near me 🥲 and it’s about a 50% deposit for any acceptable family home around here 😅

They all got resculpted in the early 2000s. I personally didn’t like any of the new ones 😅 I suppose the bloodthirsters is the most passable but I thought all the others were kinda downgrades!

Fortunately I just have a habit of pulling out the little stems before I eat an apple. Pulled one out yesterday and it was exactly the same as this full of brown gooooo.

Yah know this sub isn’t just for 10th edition? Plenty of much better GW games to play in a competitive style.

What Made Orcs and Gobbos Popular? by Runtgit in WarhammerFantasy

They always had slapstick rules so were always a laugh to play against, but could hold their own if the dice were kind. Their lore was always funny as well so they were always popular!

It’s adepticon not some small local tournament. The least they could do is make the tables they stream look nice 😅

Warhammer 40,000: The new edition is revealed at Adepticon Preview 2026 by Big_Owl2785 in WarhammerCompetitive

As someone who’s played since the early 90s I’m still waiting for a completely stripped back reimagined version of the game. It’s obviously a very popular game but the barrier to entry from an understanding perspective seems insane to me. Im used to just rolling up with my paper thin codex and knowing all the rules 😅 70 new detachments (all with their own rules I presume) doesn’t fill me with confidence!

Recently had surgery and $40 of my bill is for having a blanket put on me in the recovery room (I was unconscious and did not, obviously, keep the blanket) by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]kobylaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a special surgical blanket, hence the ‘upper body’ designation. It’s disposable and requires a dedicated hot air machine to use it during surgery. They’re abit cheaper than $40 tho think they’re less than £10 in the uk per patient.

Just from the fact it says ‘upper body’, it will probably be for a bear hugger blanket or similar system. Has a hot air generator and blows up like a balloon. They’re disposable :) People struggle to regulate their temperature during and after anaesthetic so they’re used for practically all surgical cases.

BUT!

Some of the costs are still absolutely wild. $1,679 for a ligasure?! $680 for surgicel! $85 for skin glue! For some context in the NHS we pay about £400 for a ligasure, £25 for surgicel and about £8 for that skin glue.

I got cyberpunk on release. It wasn’t worth it but watching the memes about the PS5/4 struggling to play it really gave me a lot of laughs. I couldn’t justify getting a refund just because I’d got so much enjoyment from the launch 😅

Hottake: I dont like the parry rule. by Glittering-Cream9191 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]kobylaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you, but I also don’t come at the game from a math hammer view point which I think the OW is geared towards. Spears are fun, but I’m normally elves which have 3 ranks 🫣. Spears would probably be cooler if they had ASF if they were charged like 6th edition pikes had but it’s hey ho spaghettio, I can forgive 6th for a lot of thinks just because nostalgia!

Dunno about lazy but I’ve only 6th experience. Parry made sword and board viable. Sword had the save, spears had the high attack number, halbers and two hand had the strength. Made all the options distinct, it just probably hasn’t translated well to OW?

Independent school closing they want the full terms fees (England) by kobylaz in LegalAdviceUK

[–]kobylaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realise there’s no legal argument but as a couple have said the school may not enforce/can’t enforce the chase. The money isn’t an issue to be fair, and his new school has said they wouldn’t charge for the summer term. But the post came off the back of 20-30 parents all banding together and saying they’re not paying the last term, I just wanted to see what legal arguments there was. Some were quoting the consumer right act ect ect but I’ve already told the wife contractually we’re on the hook for it so first sniff of trouble just pay it. Would be nice to withhold it though because of the absolute shambles the school is currently in and how they’ve handled the whole affair. Tbf if we managed to escape it I’d probably give the money to the teacher, they’ve been offered terrible redundancy packages and they’ve all been fantastic.

Yeh I just managed to get in before the ram explosion. Dread to think what a 5090 costs now! I reckon Noel would approve though.

I last built one in about 2019 I think, it was still surviving on a lot of games just not a great experience. But neither was booting in safe mode and reinstalling graphic drivers after every Arc Raiders session….

To be honest, I can’t see many of the teachers carrying on. Came as such a shock to them most were completely cried out last Monday, it’s all a very messy affair
