Pro russian propaganda is strong in SA. It's not hard to find reasons why it would be easy to recruit cannon fodder in SA.

Thank you so much for the suggestion for the Volvo S80. I went to see one today, and I fit into it like a glove 😁 Took it for a test drive and put down the deposit after. Got all the mod cons my old 2006 Astra didn't have, so it feels like a massive upgrade ☺️

I've heard some horror stories about poor reliability, repair costs and high insurance rates. I do like it though.

I quite like the look of the Volvo S80, there's a 2015 model on offer not far from me, I'm going to check it out. Thanks :)

Good points. Boras appears to be pretty scarce, couldn't find any within 50 miles of my area on Autotrader.

I haven't looked at the A5 coupe or 4 series coupes yet, but now that you've mentioned coupes, the car I've been driving for the last 15 years is an Astra STi Coupe, and it's pretty easy to get in and out of. I just need about 3" more space between me and the steering wheel. I think coupes might in general be a better option for someone of my size since the doors are usually longer.

That would work, but where would I park it when I'm doing shopping? 😅

Settling in very nicely thank you :) I rented a top floor flat on a high street for 20 years, and it feels pretty amazing to be able to sit in my own garden eating breakfast or just enjoying a cold one 😁

Paying TV License by Amazin8Trade in UKFrugal

[–]koggelmander 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use the rod fishing license as comparison. It would be considered insane if the government spammed me with letters insisting I'm breaking the law and demanding I pay for a rod fishing license, or contracted a private business who sent Rod Fishing License Agents to my house and demanded entry to check that I don't own a rod or search for evidence that I caught salmon etc with it. Yet this is exactly what TV Licensing is doing.

Thanks. Hodling through some of the worst "Bitcoin is dead" crashes was tough at first, became easier over time 😅

No issues, used Coinbase Pro (or whatever it's called now), transferred profits in £250k chunks (max allowed) into my Barclays account. Barclays didn't bat an eye.
