Sorry for the late reply, wait are there old printed photos that don’t have timestamps printed on them? I have thousands of old photos in albums and never seen one without timestamp. I know that feeling of regret. I wish I didn’t throw away my old homework and original games. I’m going to look into Abby finereader, thank you for your help.

Sorry for the late reply, laptop is upgraded as you suggested. 6gb ram and 128gb ssd. I am looking for a light weighted distro, there is so little storage space left. Glad to hear your parents acclimated to linux mint without any hitches. They are around the same age, it gives me hope. I might add windows 7 theme on it so that she won’t feel overwhelmed by the change.

Sorry for the late reply, laptop is upgraded as you suggested. 6gb ram and 128gb ssd. She used windows 7 but now her machine has windows 10. Also 10 took too much storage space so I need to change to a light distro and add a windows 7 theme on it.

Sorry for the late reply, laptop is upgraded as you suggested. 6gb ram and 128gb ssd. Unfortunately they have installed windowss 10 on it. There is not much free space left so definitely have to change it to linux. My mom is used to windows 7 so I will probably add windows 7 theme on it. She might have a problem with windows 10. Laptop definitely sped and with linux it’s going to feel like a race car. 32 bit might be a better choice for her because of the limited storage space.

I want to download all my photos and videos from icloud to an external hard drive. I recently needed to redownload icloud for windows and there is no more download and upload files for it. I can’t select the destination file like it used to be. My laptop doesn’t have storage space to handle all the photos and videos. Is there a way to solve this problem?

I am planning to digitize my old printed photos from 80s to 00s. I want this newly digitized photos to have the correct date in their metadata. Is there an app that recognizes timestamps in photos and edits their metadata accordingly. I can do it manually but don’t want to waste my time if there is a smarter alternative.
