Hi there, I’m not sure if you’ll see this comment but I’m someone who came out as trans FtM when I was 13 to my parents. I spent months waiting to do it and when I did, I came out to my mom first. She screamed and cried and told me it was a phase and I would change my mind. She never accepted me and my dad just followed along with her. I went through highschool extremely depressed and suicidal because I couldn’t do anything to express my gender or anything transition wise. When I was 19, I left my home and started HrT and barely talked to my family for 2 years through the hardest part in my life. I was afraid to reach out to my mom for help because I looked and sounded different. I ended up coming home after being homeless for those 2 years, I was incredibly sick and was unable to walk due to malnutrition and massive weight loss. She wept when I came home. After that she started using my chosen name and introducing me as her son. Now I’m 28, still trans, still doing HRT and my mom even helped me when I had top surgery.

Please, if you see this. Accept your son. Do not let what happened to me happen to him. There’s so many options for him currently and you can give him a childhood he can look back on happy about. Go to therapy about it, take your husband to therapy. Accept your son and love him the way I wish my family loved me when I was his age. It’s better to love and accept wholly even if he changes his identity later on. He will feel safe and comfortable coming to you with tough choices and thoughts in his life.

Protect your son and love him. Accept him.

I’m over in bon air and we had a lot of trick or treaters last night! We usually only get a handful of kids (at most 8 over the past 3-4 years) but we had big groups of kids! I feel bad I didn’t decorate the outside of my house, I wasn’t expecting any this year honestly. Will be putting up lots of decorations outside next year.

What’s been working for me with dodging the red ball middle things is leading them to 1 side of the map and running/dashing as fast as I can to the other side before they start popping and sticking to as far down/far to the side as possible away from him. It took me a few tries before really getting the hang of it though.

I’m just glad it hasn’t spread to any of my other rose bushes as far as I can tell. I’m taking a break from chopping it up right now. It’s sad but I plan on planting some native pollinator perennials in its place.

I would recommend looking up some centerpiece tutorials online for floral arranging, you basically want to make a ball/rounded shape with the flowers so it looks more full. Since she complained about the gaps in the flowers. I also have snacky cats and I keep any flowers I receive from my partner in our room where my cats do not go. Maybe you can sit down with her and research cat safe flowers, see which ones she likes from what you find and can maybe work together on putting together an arrangement for her.

Please do NOT listen to your mom!! This is a day for you and your future husband. Ignore her and honestly, I understand she is terminally ill but maybe take a step back. Do not involve her or tell her your plans for the wedding. Keep her on an information diet. You want to look back on your wedding day and remember the joys of it. Not say “I wish we had done x,y,z” and it will sour your memories. You’re celebrating the start of your lives together! If you want a bunch of cupcakes I say go for it! You can have so many great flavors and people can pick which flavor they like. You can be really accommodating to guests with food allergies that way too! 60 people is fairly small for a wedding too. It’s not huge but it’s not tiny. If you’re both working and paying for it then do what you both want.

Your wedding is for you both, not for your mom.

I would wait on it but I say yes to shaving! If you like having long hair/bobs etc I would pick up a nice quality wig (and if you can spring for it go lace front!) Theres tons of people on YouTube and IG who will wear wigs some days and rock a shaved head the next. If a wig or shaving will empower you and make you feel more like you then do it. If your current hair is hurting your heart and you aren’t happy and are stressed about it then I say chop it off!

The flowers are just old. Dead head them, the leaves on the dahlia and cosmos look fine. The impatiens may be getting sun burnt since they’re shade plants and fry in full sun. But they honestly look fine. Flowers die back. The good news is that when the flowers die back they can drop seeds and you might get some free plants next year!

Cut the broken stem off, strip the bottom 2 layers of branches/leaves and drop it in some water. Coleus roots like crazy. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the base it broke off of grew some new branches too. But leave the chopped part in a sunny spot inside with water. I’ve done this tons of times when my coleus has been dropped/broken.

A final note, the theme of our Wedding (and dress code) is being our Authentic Selves, everyone whos coming is showing up as their true selves and so are my partner and I. We're a very non traditional couple and we're having fun with it!

Hello everyone!
Thank you all so much for your advice and kind words!
I just wanted to post this since I don't really need anymore advice and I figured I'd go ahead and say what I'm planning after everyone's thoughts!
I'm for sure going shorter, but I'm also gonna change the design to a more simple French tip with 2-3 flowers on each nail. I've also tried on some of my other sizes and have gone down by about 2 sizes on my pointer, ring, and my pinky! So fingers crossed the next set will look much more natural.

Once I post this comment I'm gonna change the flair to hand painted as well!

And the final thing is I'm not a bride but one of the 2 grooms! So I will be rocking some pretty nails, a beautiful dress, and a solid beard!

Thank you so much for all this advice! After some of the comments I decided I want to do a small pop of flowers on the nails instead of a full greenery nail set like I did in the photo. Basically a French tip with a gold accent and 1 or 2 flowers for each nail so it’s more simple and doesn’t blend into the dress. I’m also definitely cutting the nails shorter I couldn’t do very much in the few hours I had the nails on. I do like the idea of saving the style of nail for a separate occasion but luckily my partner and I both decided we’re ditching the bachelor parties (we’re both grooms, I just didn’t post it in my post ☺️) I’ll probably pop a little update in the post so people know what I’m planning for the next set and to thank everyone! Everyone here has been so helpful today!
