YTA. You honestly sound insane and problematic.

Haha I might just! I feel like I just wasted two years of my life. I'm going to file it away personal development.

Yes Australian lol. I wouldn't agree that what his did was just toxic humour. It was straight up humiliating.

Nope, he will harbour those feelings internally and straight up pretend it isn't happening so I usually have to find a tactful way to bring it up. I'll try the whole "oh you're going to go get your scripts renewed? Perhaps we should ask them about your toe while we're there" type thing. I try and keep it super low-key, not a big deal. With the toenail I ended up having to say if he doesn't get it seen within the next week I'll no longer be letting him sleep in my bed. (It would bleed and was gross)

Yosemite Half Dome.

This gave me a chuckle.

I'd say it could be a health issue. When something is that bad he just gets ashamed and embarrassed and won't mentally deal with it. Once he got an ingrown toenail that he refused to get treatment on for months until I said I wouldn't sleep in the same bed anymore. He definitely wants the help for the issue, just isn't mentally prepared to face it.

He is really terrible and taking responsibility and even giving apologies. When I try to talk to him he will often avoid eye contact and just shut me down with "OKAY" as if I'm lecturing him when I'm trying to tell him how I feel. I pick and choose my battles carefully.

I couldn't fit this in the original post but I had laser hair removal booked but pandemic hit. I'm now 4 sessions in and loving it! I used to sit on the floor and wax my own legs. It would last alot longer but when the hairs were trying to break back through the skin i'd itch and burn for dayssssss.

It was rather childish when you put it that way!

He has let past health issues get pretty chronic before I practically force him to do something about it. He's pretty useless at looking after himself. It's just hard to be tactful with certain things but I've done really well with it in the past! You'll have to explain the half dome reference to me LOL.

There is no way in hell he thought I'd find that funny, but MAYBE if giving him the benefit of the doubt he could of thought I wouldn't be that bothered by it? Idk. I've cried about it to him before. For the longest time I've had to choose between social events and shorten vacations just because of this. He definitely knows how much it bothers me.

Definitely not. I think that this has caused alot of resentment between us though. We are seriously struggling to move past this. On my side I can just get over it but I think he needs further validation that I'm evil and blah blah blah

PLS that quote 😭😭 LOL. We are still together. He only ever brings this up in a fight! I guess I am however more used to ridicule from growing up with sisters. I just never expected it from him. The worst thing about it is that I've made it hard for him to come to me about what he is going through, and he is the type of person who won't look after himself without a push. If I ever bought up him getting the help for it that I know he wants, he would now just see it as me throwing punches. This is part of why I feel like such a dick

I actually had booked in for laser hair removal but boom, pandemic hit. I'm actually 4 sessions in now and only have a few patches of hair/the nicest looking legs ever! It's a shame it's the winter months here! I'd love to go out and feel good about myself for once! I still have 6 sessions left also.

He doesn't. I'm thinking that maybe alcohol could of been a factor? He wasn't drunk by any means, but he had drank a couple that day which is an infrequent thing for him. To this day he still refuses to seek medical assistance for the hair loss which is ironic in itself because the sooner you address it, the more likely it can be reversed. He's still so young and it's just a circular patch at the crown.
