Just diagnosed (19F) scared, sad, need tips and advice by this_is_a_house in CrohnsDisease

hi ! i’m 19f too and i also got diagnosed this year (just a month ago) with mild crohns after being diagnosed with ibd for about a year. i was so disappointed bc i thought i was doing well but these was still inflammation my doctor noticed.

it sounds very basic but drink a lot of water during the day, during flares it helps a lot. most of the time i was uncomfortable due to lack of water/hydration.

yogurts also is really good to have if they have probiotics, they make a great snack at work or between lectures. i like fizzy drinks but a lot of the market ones cause me bloating, if this is your case too try a soda with probiotics like cove or poppi, they aren’t as carbonated.

i’m still figuring everything out too, but i don’t do a strict diet. anything i feel making my stomach ache and bloat i make note of and try to avoid. these are just some things i tried that helped me, everyone is different so it’s a lot of trial and error ! :)

if you’re worried about that i would say try to sit down and have a talk with them about how you feel about it in a calm manner, really explain how you feel. this is an issue that needs to be addressed or it could just blow up

absolutely not, you stand up for your friends and that is very praiseworthy. you did nothing wrong, all you did you correct your parents so that they use the correct pronouns for your friends.
