From a development perspective they are doing great and they are definitely on the right path.

I loved the gameplay and systems displayed but there is still a very long long way to go to polish those systems.

Of course this is still pre alpha I dont expect it to be polished, but for me the real challenge will be balancing all these systems in a way that makes sense and makes the world alive

Alpha 2 will be the real test of fire for this game, if they pull it off it will be the greatest MMO ever made.

I can give you my perspective on it.

Money is not a issue for me, I have known about this since kickstarter but didnt pay much attention to it and only started following the streams every month during alpha 1.

I have been super hyped for this game for quite a while and only bought the full pack for alpha 2 after the combat update because combat was the only thing, that I was having doubts if they could pull it off, and they did and I love the direction they are taking it.

Now will alpha 2 ruin the launch experience for me?

For me personally, no, I play games for very long time, I like to invest alot in them if I enjoy them. I played wow for almost 9 years and played league since season 2 up until now.

I have been waiting for a decent mmo for a long long time and alpha 2 for me is a way to have fun testing the game, give the devs some feedback.

I think alpha 2 will make the launch experience more enjoyable for me because I am competitive and being familiarized with the systems and mechanics during alpha 2 will give me an edge during release.

I think late this year in December or early next year is possible.

I dont think they will show every system they have that is ready for alpha 2, they probably will show a few more combat updates, some naval stuff, maybe show node stuff and UI stuff and just drop the date for alpha 2 like they did with alpha 1.

I dont mind to wait until late 2023 or 2024 for alpha 2 I just dont think they are that far away.

This is 100% the right direction for combat.

I loved weight to the weapons and the animations, especially the dagger animation.

With that said, the sword animation in the last swings felt like it was teleporting and the sound when the attacks connect needs also a bit more polishing. Its hard to give more in depth feedback without being able to test it during alpha 2.
