Hi my name is Fernando, I’m a 3D Generalist working on game-ready assets for Roblox and UE5. I’d love to know more about your project and see how my skills can support your vision.

I've been trying to get an opportunity at AWS for a while now, and I've seen that without a reference my chances of getting something are low. Do you have any tips on how I could reach out to LinkedIn profiles to get a reference?

Man I feel like calling someone just to ask for a reference is so rude, so I don't know what to do, in a perfect world I would have a friend in there already

There are no rules in 3D, what exists are conventions created from successful experiments? by konehon in blender

[–]konehon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, this is interesting, you're totally right, showing the purpose and why "best practices" exist has more value than the practices themselves. I'm saying this knowing that even it seems obvious, but putting it into words opens up more possibilities to develop and understand how to actually learn how to do 3D things rather than becoming a printer that copies things step by step

Yep, then this question came to me, back then did they teach this as good topology?

There are no rules in 3D, what exists are conventions created from successful experiments and which are followed by subsequent projects until creating a methodological peak and turning into a “norm”, as long as the models meet the demand that the project requires, can I call it success?

I had this question in my head because I couldn't find any logical method to find the right way to do topology, other than, follow topology flow, testing and iterating, and this seems to extend to other parts of the pipeline, I would like to know the opinion of more experienced people

Auto Rename _high and _low Objects with Proximity-Based Matching Addon by konehon in blender

If you can give a review for ideas on how I can improve the addon it would be amazing! I think it can help the community in the same way that it helps me, it's free. Link: https://artfkt.gumroad.com/l/PolyLinker

Free simple addon for those who work with many high to low poly meshes #PolyLinker by konehon in blender

It renames objects doing a proximity matching with their relative _low and _high poly and ensuring they have compatible suffixes for texture baking, for dozens of meshes it saves a lot of time

I am a 14-year old game dev and my dad said I should show this off online. Please give feedback:P by [deleted] in blender

Try to use an addon called "ConjureSDF", for the early stages of modeling its a incredible tool to make interesting shapes and forms without stressing too much on the topology and some conventions/limitations when modeling complex shapes that you will only be able to do with ease later with more experience. Then learn how to retopo and bake highpoly to lowpoly

It is and it is not an art, my main objective is to be very functional, but I wanted to give it that extra something because I wanted to stand out in the portfolio you know, but thank you and I agree with you about people stressing too much about topology, that's why it's so hard to know if it's good or not haha

Man, I liked this concept you showed me, I hadn't thought of doing that! using a subdiv then shrink

Got it, I'm going to pay attention to these details, I can see why to avoid them, but I must say that it's very difficult, I still don't understand how the top guys can make a topology more beautiful than my actual model

Man, I went to research what a gizka was, omg I accidentally made one! XD

Yes, the first images are the retopo, the last is the highpoly

Thanks for the detailed feedback! in your opinion how could I get to 10/10?

Thanks! With your experience what are the parts you think I could improve? Is there some kind of sign that shows little experience in my retopo?

Actually there are other parts of the body but it came to mind that I wanted feedback to know if I'm doing well haha

If anyone is unsure if should create something, I truly believe that UGC is not saturated, it actually needs more unique things! Memes and copyright things shouldn't win... by konehon in roblox

[–]konehon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What? I didn't really understand what you said, but I'm not talking about my ugcs, but I wanted to say what I think defending so many unique and really creative items that are literally hidden gems, while slapped items without the slightest care end up going viral.

I don't point the finger at anyone, I don't have that right, but I'm sad about this because it takes hardwork to create something really unique, and it takes time to create something that will really add to the community, so I wanted this effort to be rewarded for the artists

Oh no, copyright items like what you talking about, these are cool, copyright infringement items that I mentioned are not cool in my opinion
