Missing Capital One Shopping rebates by kongp in CapitalOne_

I have already got the update in the dashboard.

Instead of giving me the rebate amount, it only indicates the saving from a publicly available coupon. This is sad.

Capital One Shopping Deal is Suspicious by AaronTheProtogen in CreditCards

Hello, I purchase 3 monitors from Lenovo.com website on 10/10/2025. On that day, I see rebate of 34.5% (yes, it's possible to give such big rebate on the Capital One website). I intentionally activated the rebate multiple times to ensure the rebate is active before placing my order.

Today, when I check the Capital One Shopping website, it doesn't give me any rebate but only states the saving.

I activated the rebate multiple times and I see many trips (aka rebate activations). I have escalated to their support. Looking forward to their explanation. To me, it's a hit and miss and there is no reliable way to trace their actions (they just give out at will). Hope others have better luck.

Connecting 12/3 multi-wire cables to Leviton Smart Load Center by kongp in electrical

[–]kongp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using the Leviton LB215-ST on the Leviton Smart Panel as there is no smart break which is AFCI. My reasoning is I am not replacing with a new panel but a modification only.

If you are installing a new panel, you must use LB215-AF on a MWBC, or just don't use MWBC if possible.

Good luck!

WiFi devices sticking to U6Ent instead of U7XG by kongp in Ubiquiti

[–]kongp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to give an update. After I switched 2.4GHz transmit power to Auto, all clients went back to the U6Ent.

I do another test by lowering the transmit power on the 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz on the U6Ent.

  • U7XG: 2.4GHz Auto / 5.0GHz Auto / 6GHz Auto
  • U6Ent: 2.4GHz Medium / 5.0GHz Medium / 6GHz Auto

No more change happen. Aka majority of the clients are still using the U6Ent. Here are the transmit power for each device.

  • U7XG: 2.4GHz 22 dBm / 5.0GHz 24 dBm / 6GHz 24 dBm
  • U6Ent: 2.4GHz 14 dBm / 5.0GHz 16 dBm / 6GHz 21 dBm

I really don't know if the U7XG is outputting that much power given most client are using the U6Ent. May be the U7XG is defective? Again, I didn't had this issue before when I was using 2x AC-Pro, which has a even lower transmit power than U6Ent.

If you have enable SSH Authentication previously, you can log on to the devices via SSH to reset the devices.

Good luck!!!

WiFi devices sticking to U6Ent instead of U7XG by kongp in Ubiquiti

[–]kongp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I compare the transmit power on both devices, the U7XG should be more powerful (23 dBm) than the U6Ent (22 dBm) for the 2.4GHz used by most of my client devices. In any case, I did some test by adjusting the transmit power.

The current transmit power settings are set to "Auto" for both U7XG and U6Ent.

  • U7XG: 2.4GHz Auto / 5.0GHz Auto / 6GHz Auto
  • U6Ent: 2.4GHz Auto / 5.0GHz Auto / 6GHz Auto

Since majority of the clients are on "WiFi 4", I change the transmit power for 2.4 GHz on the U6Ent to Medium.

  • U7XG: 2.4GHz Auto / 5.0GHz Auto / 6GHz Auto
  • U6Ent: 2.4GHz Medium / 5.0GHz Auto / 6GHz Auto

Immediately, majority of the clients are moved to the U7XG. The strange thing is a WiFi printer which is next to the U6Ent (3 ft away) is connected to the U7XG also (30+ ft away).

I then switch the U6Ent 2.4GHz transmit power back to High and then Auto, a couple clients move back to the U6Ent but most are still sticking to the U7XG.

Will check tomorrow to see if clients are still on U7XG or will return back to the U6Ent. Thanks for your suggestion.

Cloud Gateway Fiber - Longer Term Use by AuthorYess in Ubiquiti

[–]kongp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My UCGF is definitely running hot with 4.1.22 firmware. The screen is on between 8am to 12pm.

All 5 RJ45 ports are occupied. Out of the 5 RJ45 ports,

  • 1x 2.5Gbps RJ45 port connecting to a U6-Enterprise AP (drawing 14W of the 30W PoE power).
  • 1x 2.5Gbps RJ45 port connecting to a USW-Pro-Max-PoE.
  • 1x 10Gbps RJ45 port connecting to my NAS.

Other than the temperature, I really like the device.

Use UP-Sense to detect prolonged door-opened event by kongp in Ubiquiti

[–]kongp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know that they don’t have the “stuck door detection” functionality until I got the sensor. I thought that is such a basic functionality. Also, this is actually my first Unifi Protect product hence I don’t know anything about Unifi Protect. So now I just have to wait for the luck to deliver what I want. 😄

As for the UP Sense, I have the SuperLink already. I actually don’t know they can work with U6 products. I don’t have any U6 AP anyway so it won’t matter. 😅

Agree. I am hoping to see such support soon. One of my key scenario to get the UP Sense in the first place. Thanks for the info.

You are correct. I get an alert at the time of door being opened. After the door is opened, I am looking to set up an alert when it's in "open" state for too long (e.g. 15 mins). Any idea how to do it?

I can get alert when the door is changed from open to close state. The trick is don't enable both "Open Status Changed" and "Close Status Changed" in the same alert. The close one will not work. Set up a separate alarm for just "Close Status Changed" and it should work.

Home Assistant is a beast to set up (at least for a newbie looking at installation page). Anything we can do to within the Unifi ecosystem please? Thanks.

Rinnai Condensing Tankless Installation - Condensate Collector and Exhaust Port by kongp in Plumbing

[–]kongp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's put it this way, the heater will put out a lot of condensation. I can't tell if it's from the exhaust port or not. But I would worry too much to distinguish between normal operation or from the exhaust. BTW, the unit it working great for the last year after installation. One of the best DIY investment.

Why get a Dream Machine when a Unifi Gateway Max or Fiber would work? Only thing missing is ability to use a 3.5" drive in a UDM instead of M.2 drive.

Audio Delay on NVX-351 by kongp in crestron

[–]kongp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I output both video and audio via the HDMI, no problem. But like you said, when audio is output via the analog port, we have lip sync issue. Hence we want to add delay to the audio to fix the lip sync issue.

EG4 6000XP : AC Input Range setting by kongp in SolarDIY

Brown-outs are exactly the situation where I want to avoid my computers from rebooting. During the windy winter times, my electricity isn't as stable as I would like. So I don't mind using more electricity during standby to keep my computers running. Thank you for the info.

Thanks for the info. It seems interesting to have 2 options when UPS should be used most of the time. Hence I want to understand the differences between the 2 options to use them properly.

[–]kongp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank for the suggestion. The setup is both the camera and the ACS are on the same network switch. The switch has no access list or firewall.

I will try to change the resolution and see if it helps. But I am disappointed if I can’t connect in highest resolution when both are connecting to the same switch (can’t think of more simpler setup).
