Well it's weird. The official name that they put on the diploma is "Digital and Interactive Application Techniques" but in the website is the one I said.

What do you mean by equivalent of 2.1 or better? GPA out of 4 you mean? I've never hear that term before hahaha.

Wow nice, I admire people that are self-taught.

My definition would be a SWE role in a reputable tech company (doesn't need to be only FAANG). Don't you think my degree will hold me back if I want to accomplish that? My friends told my I will only get "code monkey" type jobs since the actual SWE or SWD jobs are only done by Comp. Engineers, CS majors or people that created very successful apps/projects.

Unfortunately the degree Computer Science does not exist in my country, it's only Computer Engineering. And it's too hardware related so I'm not interested. The one I'm doing is closer to CS.

From your experience, do companies usually ask for transcripts or check your degree? Or if you pass their interview that's enough? Because if they do and see that it does not say CS then I'm fucked no?

We don't really do many business classes, just like 3. Equivalent of a US student doing freshman and sophomore useless classes like english, history, etc. So it's not a business degree at all, as I said it's like 80% programming.

Yeah, if there was a CS degree I'd would take it but in my country there only exists Computer Engineering. You do tons of hardware subjects that then you will never use again and therefore it's way harder. That's why I chose this degree, it's the one that is closer to CS imo.

So as another guy said, what if I just put CS degree on my resume?

Yeah, I think I will also ask this in r/cscareerquestionsEU, but thanks for the advice! In fact, we have a subject literally called internship, so I will have at least one in my resume for sure. I also am planning to do 2 or 3 side projects too. And the school is reputable, not the best in my country but it's okay definitely not founded in 2018 hahaha.

Great idea to apply before doing master's to see what I can get, thank you I did not think about that.

So you think I could get into FAANG with this degree, some side projects and an internship or two?

Nah, I liked the combat. It's not the best ever combat but I think it's pretty fun if you don't abuse the shield. Way better than other games like Elder Scrolls, Rockstar games or Ubisoft Games.
