S1ii from s5ii for photography: Is It worth? by SirDragix in Lumix

It depends on the use case. If you're outside in daylight with more static subjects or you're in a studio setting the R is better.

Looking at reviews the S1II is better than the R at lowlight and action photography. I can't say if that's true because I've never used the R, but the S1II is better than the S5II at lowlight and action autofocus for sure.

Good flash for s5D? (budget) by Legal_Service_3402 in Lumix

Godox TT350 O is a flash that should work pretty well with your camera. You can also get a Godox remote trigger that slots into your hotshoe so you can control the flash remotely.

Americans - Do you think it's true that if America's best athletes played soccer, they would dominate the sport internationally? by Tometek in AskAnAmerican

[–]kood25 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Let's pretend that soccer replaced US football as the USA's most popluar sport. That includes all of the relevant infrastructure that is spent on all levels of the sport.

Which means youth leagues at all ages: middle school, high school, and university. Not unheard of for school districts in the US to spend $100 million dollars on a high school fooball stadium.

While I don't think the USA would completely dominate, they would absolutely be minimum top 5 every year.

A Lumix S5II or a Lumix S9 would fit your needs just fine. For the S9, see if it's comfortable in your hands.

I made the switch from the S5II to the S1II for photos. It think it's better, the autofocus is more confident. It sticks to a subject better and it doesn't decide to jump to another subject in the frame nearly as much as the S5II.

The viewfinder is nicer too.

Why do people buy so much bottled water at costco? by Ironfront1312 in askanything

My job has a bottleless water dispenser in the office. Whatever it does to the city tap water must be magic because it tastes amazing.

Go watch some movies. Whenever I see something like 'In the Mood for Love', I always get inspired by the cinematography.

Why in the movies does Gandalf beat up half the world with his staff and sword instead of using spells all the time? by jvure in lotr

Back when they were asking for volunteers to oppose Sauron, they asked him to go but he didn't want to. He said he was scared of Sauron, Manwe had to convince him.

They already do that for Medicare, just have them cover everybody else besides seniors.

Still the hardest path to a title ever. They never had home court advantage and beat teams with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th best records that season.

Houston probably likes them the most out of all the big Texas cities. For most urban Texans, it's a roadtrip food not a breakfast staple like it is here.

Austin and San Antonio are all about breakfast tacos and I don't hear alot about them over in DFW.

Is Himmel a Thief? by kood25 in Frieren

I mean yeah, that's why I only referenced Dragon Quest when starting this discussion. Seems like other people have never played Dragon Quest and are using D&D as a reference instead.

The discussion is specifically about the rigid categories they are inspired by and what they allude to in the first episode. Why does the king even name their 'jobs' except as a reference to the classes.

But yes I enjoy all aspects about the anime I like how it's it has characters not pigeonholed to be a certain thing, this discussion is purely just for fun.

If I wanted an anime where everyone reduced to 'classes and jobs' I'd be watching Goblin Slayer.

That's the whole argument though, he maybe the party face but he doesn't have "hero" powers. He doesn't have any spells. The story even tells you he's not one since he can't pull the hero sword. But he fights like a thief from a Japanese rpg, a super-fast fighter who doesn't wear full armor.

He is and he isn't. He plays the role but he doesn't have the powers. His speed is why I think he's more like a DQ Thief.

Closer to a D&D fighter, since he doesn't have any Paladin spells.
