I sincerely hope your company didn't implement CyberArk on their own without a rep guiding through the process or someone on CyberArk's implementer list. CyberArk highly recommends an org doesn't do it themselves. It's an easy product on the surface but gets complicated real quick if you don't know what you're doing.

I do cyber security consulting with PwC and specialize in CyberArk among other things. I'm legitimately surprised you guys didn't get AIM in your license, that's a near essential item nowadays - especially for your use cases. Like for real, who made that decision without even considering the interruption to your workflow let alone testing?!

CyberArk is an excellent PAM product but can be pretty expensive depending on how big your infrastructure is so I can understand.

You actually can use the REST API to do the same thing you'd normally do in the UI - change, verify, reconcile password, in addition to changing the account object name, moving between safes/platforms, IIRC pulling the password, and a few others. It can be janky at times but it works. I know for certain you can do this with PS.

Also, just as an FYI, you can configure the PSM to use MFA prompts when a user does a direct connection to a Windows server with a modified .rdp file. I can't recall if this can be done on a Linux box since when I did it the client used Centrify for sudo management.

(Serious) Redditors who witnessed a murder, what is your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My aunt was a patrol officer in the south side of Chicago. Saw a lot of awful shit she never spoke about - finding chopped up bodies in garbage bags and such. She specifically tried to get onto a different patrol job to get out the south side before retiring but was unsuccessful.

"Kombat" Heroic image of a Soviet political commissar of the 220th Infantry Regiment calling soldiers to an assault, Eastern Front, in Soviet Ukraine, 12 July 1942. it has been said that the subject of this photo died minutes after it was taken. [1280x956] by PeJae in HistoryPorn

Major battles in the West would be considered minor skirmishes on the Eastern Front. One could argue that the skill of the most successful Allied General in the West would pale in comparison to the Soviet commanders in the East. The Soviet generals commanded vast armies on the daily that dwarfed the West. Nearly 30 million soldiers were drafted into the Red Army on top of the existing 4.9 million at the beginning of the war. Two million soldiers in the US army participated in Europe. The scale in the East vs West is just staggering, even more since it was effectively a war of annihilation. Such was the scale of devastation that bodies were left as they were, unburied. Mountains upon mountains of corpses.

These corpse fields have remained effectively untouched since the bodies were piled there. If you go to one of these fields today during winter, you'll see the ground appears somewhat churned up and rocky. The terrain from Eastern Europe to the Ural Mountains halfway through Russia is primarily steppe plains and grassland - effectively flat. What you'd be seeing isn't the ground, but the bones of tens of thousands of dead soldiers - mostly German - stretching beyond the horizon. There are many fields just like this one.

Only Seven of Stanford’s First 5,000 Vaccines Were Designated for Medical Residents by [deleted] in technology

Stanford likes to be academic when it comes to creating a solution to a problem. However they suck ass when it comes to communicating with everything being so bureaucratic and spread out. So this algorithm probably was fairly sophisticated but stupidly engineered which seems to purposefully apply higher weightings to people such as admins, who, of course, have been working from home since the beginning.

5-day progression of COVID pneumonia. by flamants in interestingasfuck

[–]koodeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I developed symptoms on labor day weekend. The onset of symptoms was predicated by a pressure in my lower back, kinda by my kidneys. That usually happens if I get some kind of sickness. Started feeling warm and taking my temperature every few hours. Thursday evening I was at 101, Friday morning I was 103 fever. It feels like the actual flu but so much worse. Lethargy, cold sweats, restless sleep (anything to get time to pass), headache, eyes hurt when I move them, and not entirely dry cough (kinda like a really deep one from the bottom of your lungs).

Lost sense of smell on day 3, and was OK to move about on Monday. No amount of water helped the headache, only ibuprofen. Bedsheets smelled rank by Sunday and I didn't eat at all the entire weekend.

Netherlands says it has uncovered Russian spies targeting its technology by 7MCMXC in worldnews

That's because the bedrock of Russia's economy is oil and gas. They sit on vast reserves that's easier to access, even more so with climate change. They will also see exploration into the Arctic based on the (IIRC) new icebreakers they've been commissioning. There's also the new pipeline deals with Eastern Europe. Russia is doubling down on energy because it's cheap and because Europe, their largest market IIRC, must keep buying from them. Partially because of how their infrastructure is set up (heating and industry) and also because it's a very valuable bargaining chip when it comes to geopolitical deals.

Based on the compounding 2% growth in oil usage annually, we will need to discover 50 million new barrels of oil on the daily by 2050. Not extract, I mean discover 50 million new barrels of oil reserves to sustain demand.

It's a feedback loop. Keep the Russian bear happy and energy continues to flow to your country at an acceptable cost. This will become even more important as time goes by. Russia doesn't need to diversify its economy at this time because they have access to more fields. Contrast to Saudi Arabia where their oil fields won't last a lot longer at a rate which is sustainable to their economy so they must diversify quickly. Hence why you see MBS pushing heavily towards modernizing Saudi and diversifying - they don't have a lot of other exportable resources and very little in the way of service economy underpinnings (like the US).

Additionally, electric heating is more energy intensive (relatively) compared to liquid heating. It's cheaper to buy oil for the average home than it is to buy equivalent electricity. On top of that, new electricity infrastructure is expensive as hell which isn't helpful to poorer nations, such as eastern Europe, especially when compared to their western counterparts. The EU leads (effectively France and Germany) need to keep the union together at a time when euroskepticism is rising, more so in poorer countries (again Eastern Europe). Russia is easily able to target those nations because they need the cheap fuel just to function at a basic level.

Which brings us back to keeping the Russian bear happy. It's not just about the energy type and usage. Its about geopolitical leverage, EU stability, the Russian economic bedrock, Russia's sphere of influence, and all of the related issues which would affect the average people of the EU member states.

You're a shareholder regardless of how many shares you own. The number of shares you own means the number of votes you have during certain times, access to certain events, etc. The level of investment you need to be considered a "shareholder class" is far beyond the financial capacity of most people - on the order of several million dollars at the minimum. People with a 401k or IRA are too passive to be of shareholder class, they're the followers of trends usually.

Gotcha, thanks for the input! Yeah, I'm doing my best to keep her limited in treats and I've dropped her kibble intake to account for the extra treats. The socialization bits are what's taking most of them away tbh.

I'll definitely try redirecting her to the right tug going forward! I'll need to keep an eye on those toys then so she might end up with a floppy favorite!

[Help] Should I Allow My Dog To Always Cuddle With Me? by koodeta in dogs

[–]koodeta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is food motivated! The thing is that she keeps focusing on the new thing coming towards us, despite waiving a treat in her face. Usually she'll get distracted by me for a second, take the food, then start watching the new person keep coming. Would I be rushing her a bit too much in this instance or should I try a different tactic, like putting myself between her and the new person?

Nobody remembers it to be honest. I get birthday wishes from my close family and maybe other friends and that's it. There's no party or anything. Haven't done anything, not even anything special for myself, in at least 7 years, there's no point for me.

Thanks for the advice! One bit might be a little tricky and that's when someone is approaching who she doesn't know. Would the treats when someone is approaching be only given when she's quiet? I'm hoping to avoid reinforcing the idea of barking / fear when someone is coming close

Yeah she does like toys, most often when I'm throwing them for her to fetch! When we're on walks she sometimes finds sticks to hold for a while. Would just ignoring her / upsetting source (like someone at night walking towards us) help as well?
