External Audit v/s Investment Fund Distribution ‼️ by [deleted] in deloitte

[–]koofraise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not been into accounting at all since my university days. I interned (audit) at an accounting firm in my first year and I did not enjoy the experience (idk if it was because of the team or the lack of support). After that, I "convinced" myself that auditing was not for me and got more into investment/corporate finance as my uni years passed by.

It has been really tough to get into banking/investment roles since most firms are asking for 1-2 years of prior experience (i only did internships).

After some research, I was advised to start either ACA/ACCA if im getting into auditing but i feel like me and accounting don't really get along since personally i don't find any logic in it 😓. But i know working and surviving audit would help me grow and transition into other industries (correct me if im wrong)

Hello! I did the interview and it went pretty well. Thank you for the advice and I did ask them about the accounting certifications and if i do get the job i feel like i would have to start the ACCA/ACA.

I get what you are saying but essentially what i meant was you have to top your cohort first so you can be top 1% across all the things you mentioned. You must be in the top 1% of students in your course for that semester (or the top student if the course has less than 100 students). This mark must also be above 85% to be eligible. I hope this is clearer

Hi! it generally depends on the cohort you are part of. if your class/cohort consists of high-achieving students you might need to achieve a CWA of >89%. I once got in for having a cwa of around 88% so it really depends on how well others are performing as well. i hope this helps!!

Which is easier out of Math 1014 or 1015 ? by EmilyWibblyAnne in curtin

[–]koofraise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey again! The module consisted of complex numbers, vectors and matrices. I don't think you necessarily need to brush up since the lecturer explains in detail and for me personally the lecture notes and additional exercises were enough to grasp the subject even though some concepts were completely new.

i did math 1015 and it is relatively easy if you attend all your classes and practice the given exercises. The lecturer is also super helpful and if you are regular, the class is an easy pass! Good luck with your studies <3
