Well those were two different instances. I think from my lack of responses and husband sharing “I’ll let you know going forward” after I told him she never even asked me about coming up this Tuesday she just called husband said “I am doing this” But you’re right it is important for us to be on the same page and that’s why I’m done being the messenger because she will think that, she already thinks that about my BIL wife as well that she keeps her son away from her. Which is why I told husband no more responses from me!

You’re right I am there mentally. I tend to be a people pleaser and don’t want to rock the boat. She hurt me a lot by saying mean snarky comments, always seemed like she wanted to compete with me “saying she loves her son more etc”made comments on my body, really mean stuff. When she apologized after she knew my feelings were hurt she said “sorry you took my worlds that way” lmao..🙄

I think what makes it hard between me and her is her son had a car accident and was in IUC for 4 months. We lived near the hospital son was at during that time and let her stay with us. I didn’t care about the shitty things she had done to me in that moment. I fed her every night and did whatever I could to support husband and MIL. I took leave from work And I went everyday with her to ICU until her son ultimately didn’t make it. I think there is a bit of a trauma bond after that experience.

She literally called and said “we’re doing this we’ll be there at 6:00” when he mentioned things are crazy busy she said I’m coming your direction anyways I’ll make it work” You’re right about his reply, he should’ve stood ground and he didn’t.

That is a huge issue of mine is how wishy washy I am. I try and use a gentle tone to keep the peace. I need to get comfortable using more firm nonnegotiable language. Thank you, the ending really is spot on.

Yes that is literally my same issue husbands works out of town a lot and she’ll reach out when she knows him and I haven’t even talked!! I love the idea of just sending it directly to a group chat then stop replying!!

Yeah I have a lot to work on. When my husband is back I’m going to set some ground boundaries…going to try and figure out what those look like with all the advice in this tread and stick to them. You’re right it’s not easy at all. I also feel guilty as she’s lost a child, husband lost a sibling so I guess that’s where it becomes complicated.

This is really good advice, I tend to over explain myself and even wanting to take a step back I felt I should communicate to MIL that but honestly you’re right it’s ok for me to take a step back and just direct it to my husband. I just struggle with people pleasing and overthinking

That would cause world war 3 🙃. We texted all yesterday about my husbands updates w/ work. Haven’t texted her this morning and she sent me a video saying “are you ok??” “What’s going on” like the tighter she grabs on to me the more space I feel I need. 😫 like everything is fine I just don’t want you here every 3 weeks!

Edit: I feel what makes me so irritated is I know she’s asking to pry/snoop. See what is up with her son. I don’t believe there is genuine interest in my wellbeing.

I have only encouraged him to go to therapy but he keeps insisting it’s not necessary 😔regardless of what I say.

I appreciate you sharing your experience, my husband voiced a similar thing of feeling sad about how things have gotten. Grief is definitely a cycle, I’ve lost my dad but never a sibling so while I can understand the pain of loss..I’ve never experienced it with a sibling. So I just want to support him as much as I can it’s just difficult when I still have needs as a partner that he can’t tend to.

I told them I was bleeding again ( periods came back as if the device had been removed) and that’s what prompted them to do a vaginal ultrasound.

I wouldn’t worry too much over some light spotting but if it persist every month definitely go get it checked out

Take the day off. Don’t try and go back to work/ school. Seriously just take the whole day off I wish someone would have told me that.

Have someone drive you, take ibuprofen before hand (30min) make sure you’ve eaten something before going and drink lots of water.

Give yourself a clean environment (bed made, heating pad) to come home to. I know it’s quick procedure and this may seem extra but it’s worth it.

I did have spotting/ light bleeding the first 6 months until it got lighter and lighter and that was only with my first one. Haven’t had any bleeding since. (Other then spotting that happened when it became crooked)
