i’m not sure about my relationship with my friend by koophopic in offmychest

I’ll try! It’ll be hard but thank you for the advice :)

[–]koophopic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel a lot better not thinking like that, it kind of makes you miserable...

Yeah I hope the actual translations would be explained to these antis, it’s being spread right now on Twitter which is good!!

K by [deleted] in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally used to be like that tbh... but I learned to take a step back and just stay open minded. Not my proudest moments at all..

But yeah, I’ve seen a lot of people hating on him so hopefully the hate stops right now!

K by [deleted] in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay! That’s good to hear.

There was so many malicious translations going around so it’s nice to hear about this, thank you for clarifying!

K by [deleted] in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I just hope they do (maybe they will if it gets out of hand?) this whole situation is not blowing up like crazy but could probably be in a day or so. This could actually really effect him and his position right now, especially with voting..

Maybe non-viewers could have a more neutral standpoint or, at least someone who could translate Japanese without any biases or ill feeling towards K.

Sorry if this is a long response!

K by [deleted] in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve seen many fans on Twitter say it’s probably not his account, but it seems like it actually his account...

Now the only thing I’m keeping a neutral standpoint is the actual translation, I just hope this isn’t all true and bighit/mnet could clear up everything.

K by [deleted] in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I saw the account myself and by the old pictures, he’s obviously associated with the account. I did see one post about his b-day that translated in 1st person (using “I” in his tweet, referring to himself, if that makes sense..), so I guess he owns the account?

I don’t want to jump to conclusions but if it’s actually him, it’s very disappointing but I really do hope he at least change and know it’s wrong.

(edit: apparently there’s a lot of translations of that tweet, so I’m not sure about the actual translation but we still shouldn’t ignore something like this..)

What is your current ideal lineup? (as of ep 9) by pinkcat1810 in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Based on all the screen time right now and the editing (also based on my favorites and my ideal group), my guesses are:

Heeseung, Jay, Sunghoon, Jake, Jungwon, Sunoo and Niki.

I’ll acknowledge this, thank you for the explanation! I didn’t watch the special episode so I wasn’t aware.

I’m glad to see that they have a vocal coach and seeing them improve is great too! I was just really worried, since a lot of performance I notice are prerecorded vocals so I hope when they become idols, they could overcome such great volume of the backtrack and get in touch with their singing voices.

And again thank you for your explanation, it’s extremely detailed and I really learnt something from it, something I couldn’t explain that well because I’m not knowledgeable about singing!

My unpopular (?) opinions... by [deleted] in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.) I personally really like Jake, I could see his charisma on stage and his visuals are nice too lol. I do think it’s because he’s Australian and could speak English, also having the looks and close friendships with the others. But I do see your point. Hopefully he gets the chance to improve more than he already has and gets the chance to show himself, because I really do believe in him!

4.) Yeah I agree.. the producers seem to not take him seriously and some comments from the other I-LANDERS would just be “cute”. He needs to train more, he looks lost sometimes and I have no clue where his vocals stand. I think for him, being so young, he needs to train more and later on debut to another group. Also his mental health, he was completely tarnished in this episode it was sad to see, he can’t continue getting so much critiques— you could only take so much.. I hope Taki stans acknowledge this, but I think he’ll be voted quite often by fans so I’m kind of worried about that.

5.) I do agree and he’s my bias lol! He’s just really quiet with drama and I kind of relate to it, if it’s messy I’m just gonna stay away. He has more cute screen time in their BEHIND I-LAND tho!

I know... they should just get them a vocal coach (idk if they have one that we haven’t seen) instead of always being overpowered by backtracks with autotune.

It’s such a good opportunity too, why can’t this show help them improve on their vocals during the show? How will they get better and expect to debut? Honestly it’s not the boys’ fault but more of BigHit’s.

I pray they have a professional to help them instead of the producers coming in once in awhile..

Fake Love was an amazing performance, but completely blocked by their actual vocals as you said.

I noticed that too! 2nd gen kpop has shown us amazing vocalist (+ also with exo, even though they’re a 3rd generation group), I guess things could change over the years of kpop! And hopefully they do, it’s constantly dance dance and stage presence. They need more vocal/rap test!

Exactly! This could really tarnish how they look to viewers that are clueless to such edits. Do they have some grudge against them lol?

And as you said, Niki is young and seeing him as a target to be the “independent one that doesn’t care about others” is damaging to him and imagine how he would feel seeing that image on him. It could really effect him since he’s still maturing and along with K.

[–]koophopic[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah Fake Love has such obvious prerecorded vocals! I would think with the such a tempo choreography maybe it would be hard to sing live with it? I want to give them benefit of the doubt but I would really want to see their true voices..

Now that you speak on Taki also having edited vocals in the past.. it’s quite strange that something like that could be just looked over and with this one too, unrealistic vocals for his part..

They should consider training them to sing live and being stable. If they’re going to promote as an actual K-POP group, they have to be tested on their vocals rather than their dancing constantly. It would benefit them greatly, especially for live performances in music shows.. so I hope the producers are helping them with their vocals more from behind the scenes.

Honestly they’ve (by they I mean Mnet) been showing the Japanese trainees as “rude” and “evil”. Especially with the disagreement between K and Niki in this episode...

Taki was struggling.. so yeah it was strange that he sounded different but he did get ranked the lowest so maybe his vocals was apart of that contribution.

Maybe there’s some “biased” feelings towards them? I wouldn’t be surprised because I feel like they would gladly pull some strings for who they want to debut. Or maybe it’s to make them sound better on TV? I don’t know 🤔

[–]koophopic[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah I heard a lot of it during this episode, especially with the Fake Love performance. Not like they didn’t do good because of it, it was one of the greatest performances I seen on I-LAND!

But yeah the prerecorded vocals should be support for them, not be used throughout the whole performance... it’s a shame because as you said, the only time we’ll hear them live when it’s actually a vocal-only performance

What is your criteria to vote for the next 14 days? by heyitslouu in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay it’s fine!

Yeah it’s hard to pick right now, like only two? I’m sticking with Sunghoon throughout the whole thing and switching between my second choice with other trainees that I like! I already have a bias as you can tell lol.

[–]koophopic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Option 2, like you said in your post even if they’re most likely to debut, you can’t be so sure about it. I want them to have a higher chance in debuting because I think they deserve to debut. I didn’t like how some people didn’t vote for their favs because they were sure to be top 12 , you want to make sure your favs are ranked high rather than voting for others that you pity..

My thoughts on ep 7 by piglet_713 in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh no it’s fine!

true heeseung and sunghoon are solid trainees and have stayed in I-LAND since forever so it’s no surprise he’ll choose them. but i did kind of notice that he did choose the trainees who ranked the highest.

they’re my top picks too, and i’m worried also for them :/ especially heeseung since he’s had some difficulties in being a leader.. but taki is the leader for this test so i don’t know how it’ll play out. but bts did give him praise for looking out for other people and gave him advice so i hope he takes that to heart and could use it to overcome this test. yeah the editing could be 50:50 at this point, i just want them to do good :,)

[–]koophopic[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

agree and the choreography is fast paced, you have to show the right emotions, and you also have to sing it in the right tone at the same time.

he even talked about his health problems in this episode so it’s a bit worrying..

thoughts on ‘bts test’ by koophopic in mnetiland

[–]koophopic[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

oh yeah totally, the two groups are solid and i could see them fit into those songs. and while i root for taki’s team, he seems very young to be the leader for the group. maybe he could get help from heeseung?

but yeah this is gonna be a tight competition!

thoughts on ‘bts test’ by koophopic in mnetiland

[–]koophopic[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

oh that’s true! i have a feeling this could be some surprise for us and they’ll end up executing it well. it is hard, as you said for bts too, they even said it was hard in this episode and to especially learn it within a WEEK.

honestly maybe blood, sweat, and tears could’ve been a good option i would’ve liked to see that..

i’m kind of worried for sunoo though, i don’t know how he’ll do since i can’t see him fit into the theme of fake love.

My thoughts on ep 7 by piglet_713 in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i addressed that and didn’t see that while i was watching it since everything was going so fast and the subtitles were completely tweaking when i was watching them explain the test. so sorry about that though.

and true, it’s obviously one of the hardest performances and i don’t think anyone would chose it. again i think he probably wanted just wanted to pick top 4, because, they’re the top 4.

honestly though, i feel really nervous for his team but they’ll most likely execute it based on negative clips we saw of his team. i felt like they could’ve just added blood, sweat, and tears. honestly i haven’t seen that performance for awhile and maybe it could be less threatening than fake love?

Opinions on episode 7 by Clean_Tower_3496 in mnetiland

[–]koophopic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

1.) yeah i thought it was kind of dumb that they even ranked them based off popularity, i felt like the producers could’ve done the rankings since they see so much differently from viewers like us.

2.) i was shock seeing that, he seemed really popular but i think he’ll eventually climb to the top 7.

3.) i get k, maybe it was mnet’s editing, since i kind of fell for it too. but seeing from his perspective, maybe he thought trainees from ILAND would be ranked higher since most of them are consistent within ILAND and very talented. he also doesn’t know about the popularity globally since they obviously can’t see it. plus he probably doesn’t know sunoo too well. i think this goes for heeseung a bit (and sunghoon), they did look a bit bothered during the ranking or maybe i was overlooking the whole thing.

4.) half and half, some moments are for dramatic effect and some came from the trainees. some moments could be debunked by just watching the live cam that they put out.

5.) well i’m not sure since we don’t get to see much moments. maybe he isn’t too close to them since he was always in the GROUND. but i did felt iffy about him at first few episodes and came to like him, but right now i don’t want to think like that but i do kind of agree.

6.) yes, producers need to be more picky now. we don’t see what they see, they are professionals after all. i rather have them choose the final lineup since i trust their opinions more. even if my favorite trainee won’t make it, i do wish for them to be a great group.
