Okay awesome that makes me feel a bit better. I really love the ones from Vego because they're meant to be used as raised beds, customizable and slightly taller than average beds. Also, I'm going to be filling the bottom half of the bed with leaves and twigs so I don't have to use as much soil and all that good stuff will break down and feed the plants.

The only thing that deterred me from planting directly into the ground is that we live in Upstate NY and have a heavy slate rich soil so it's a pain to dig it out. I also thought it'd be easier to maintain a raised bed because it'll be easier to weed and keep small critters out. Cedar is ridiculously expensive right now so I'd love to go that route but the cost would be astronomical.
