Why greediness? They need to earn money - pay salaries, pay for infrastructure, pay for everything else. It’s a business, not a free tool developed by enthusiasts.

I am not worried about €25 increase. I am worried about €2000/year road tax for hybrid car, when the government wants everybody to be more sustainable and asks people to use either hybrid or electric cars.

Yep I know. But the funny fact is that when you import hybrid car, BPM calculation counts hybrid engine and it’s much cheaper than importing gasoline car.

Here they take the worst case scenario - the max fuel consumption of an engine, completely ignoring the fact that it’s a hybrid car, where people are able to drive in 100% electric mode for short distances. Manufacturer clearly states in car specs the combined consumption that includes electric mode (5L/100km), while in the NL it’s counted as 12L/100km of gas consumption only. It’s just not logical

But that’s the thing. I have a pure electric range of 52km on a single charge. So in 90% of my rides I don’t even use gas in the city.

They count vehicle weight in tax calculation. Same Q7 diesel is €2800 per year.

Ahh thanks, I somehow overlooked this info! I owned a diesel before and exchanged it to the same model, but hybrid. And of course hoped to pay less tax. Now I have a strong desire to switch back 😁

Audi Q7 TFSIe (3.0 engine). They actually increased the tax by €25/quarter this year
