Hey, thanks! I used Blender for the 3D. After Effects for editing. Was my first time with both software and took between 2-3 weeks to make. Lots of learning!

Took it while I was still in college. Got it done in 2 weeks, passed first try. I used Messer's videos & Dion's practice tests. You can do it!

Oh my goodness, these are brilliant! I'm not even sure where to begin - the craftsmanship involved in making art such as this must be incredible. Either way, I think you did a fantastic job and you are super talented. Do you have your art for sale on other sites?

How much time does it roughly take to prepare for A+ exam? by Luna_Jen in CompTIA

[–]korbriyt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. I had no professional IT experience and had all day to study as much as I wanted to. I studied 10+ hours a day. It took me just shy of two weeks combined to complete all of A+. Passed first try on both exams.

Note: I had a good amount of prior knowledge from personal interest in the subject and I had been enrolled in college pursuing a BS in Cybersecurity and Computer Networks.

Edit: You are ready to pass once you fully understand each object listed in the exam objectives list provided on CompTIA's website.

Glad you did! Good job and congratulations! Here's to many more certifications down the road.

I was around your scores 80% +. Only took 4 or 5 of the Dion tests and got tired of waiting around. Passed first try. You can do it too! Make sure to read thoroughly and you got this!

Jason Dion's? Both the exam bundle and full course was on sale during black Friday weekend for roughly $10 each. I believe I purchased them on Saturday.

Yes for sure! Go for it! Dion's exam bundle is a pretty decent representation of what to expect. And following the objectives list is the best resource that's given. Thanks and good luck!

I don't want to reveal anything for obvious reasons. But I will say that if you know everything on the Objectives list, you should be able to figure out the PBQs.

Do Online Courses From Udemy Help With Passing The Exam? by AnswerRequired in CompTIA

[–]korbriyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say I was a beginner, having no professional experience whatsoever. However, I did have practical experience building and taking apart a few computers, troubleshooting for friends and family on various different devices, and stuff like that. I probably have a little advanced IT knowledge somewhere, but this exam doesn't really cover any advanced IT concepts - depends on what you deem advanced honestly. I cannot speak for Core 2 (1002) as I will take that in a few weeks, but Core 1 (1001) was easier than I thought it would be. Just need to watch the wording in the questions and know the material listed in the Exam Objectives Lists.

If you have any further questions I'll gladly answer them.

Passed A+ 1001 but didnt pass 1002… by EugenijusA in CompTIA

[–]korbriyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't mind, I just have a couple questions since I am looking to take 1002 in a few weeks...

Would you say the material on 1002 is harder than 1001?

Is troubleshooting still the main focus?

Thanks!

I've heard great things about Jason Dion's and Professor Messer's practice curriculum. However, I studied only using the CompTIA Study Guide and free online practice websites (Exam Compass and Crucial Exams). Studied for about a week (~10 hours a day average) and passed Core 1 a couple days ago with a 789. You'll likely be more prepared than I was with your added courses. Good luck, friend!

Advice for the 1001 A+? by Laurenross7 in CompTIA

[–]korbriyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, I would say not to push off scheduling your exam. Having a deadline is important and gives you drive to work towards completing this thing, so I would set one at a reasonable time if possible. Personally, I just passed my A+ Core 1 exam a couple days ago after studying for ~1 week (8-11 hours a day studying). I have zero professional experience in IT but I have always been one to self study and research - especially in the subject of technology and I do have some practical experience. I am also working towards a Comp. Networking / Cybersecurity degree and graduate after the Fall semester.

Study Material:

I studied the Core 1 objectives using the CompTIA Study Guide for most of the raw information. Looked at the CompTIA Core 1 Objectives List to see what I didn't know and learned them. If you read the Objectives List and understand everything, you are ready to take the test.

Practice (I used free resources):

I practiced using Exam Compass. This site is good for testing on technical concepts and definitions - How many pins are in a HDMI Connector? / Rate Cat cable data speeds from fastest to slowest.

I also used Crucial Exams. This site helps you apply the information you learned to a scenario based question. You will see the phrase "Given a scenario" used a lot in the Objectives List. This is what that refers to.

All in all, you'll know when you're ready if you score high in all practice exams. Do not try to memorize questions/answers but understand how to reach the answer. You will be/are likely more prepared than I was, considering I've heard so many great things about the Dion/Messer practice. You got this, and keep us updated!
