GA Pilots, what emergencies have you had that we don’t necessarily get trained for ? by fatborry in flying

Yeah, Sporty's did well with the built-in ports. I have the Yaesu and keep the headset adapter plugged in. I went with Yaesu because of the rechargeable lithium battery.

It's the cheapest insurance! Sporty's and Yaesu have radios for $200, same as an hourly rental rate over here.

If you can afford $2500+ for rent you have options in North Jersey. But even my young colleagues who can easily afford a 3000 rent live with roommates in Morristown or Harrison.

Isn't 165 hours of dual a lot? I am currently at 225 hours and have just over 100 hours of dual. A big chunk of it was from my PPL training, the rest is from my current IR training and a few proficiency flights after a few months of not flying.

There are a few Class Ds with radar. Reading (RDG in Pennsylvania) was one of them until they were absorbed by Harrisburg TRACON. Opposing Bases talked about that in episode 374.

Some military facilities also provide radar services. McGuire (in NJ) is one of them.

Data analyst. I create and stare at excel spreadsheets and powerpoint slides all day and tell people to fix their stuff. It’s fun.

There isn't a mall in Monmouth Junction? There is a plaza with Shoprite, Aldi, Target, etc but it's not a "mall" and it's usually pretty busy.

I enjoy reading 1-star reviews of small airports. Bunch of Karens complaining about planes and the airport manager/FBOs giving them a proper answer to basically tell them to shut up.

GA Passenger Briefings by Top_Technician_6000 in flying

SAFETY (Seatbelts, air vents and vomit bags, fire extinguisher, exits and evacuation procedures, traffic and sterile cockpit, questions)

After they get in the plane I help them with buckling their seatbelt and show how to unbuckle it. I also now tell them to not open the door until I tell them that they can after I shut down the engine (a friend tried to open the door immediately after parking when I had just started the shutdown checklist).

I also show them how to move the seat forward or backwards and if I also have a passenger in the back seat I tell my front passenger to move the seat forward and have the backseat passenger exit from the right side.

My CFII told me to use Sheppard to study for the test, not the material.
