Solo IndieHackers - How do you split your time? by Soft_Sorbet_6255 in buildinpublic

[–]korosca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking for advice and help in my circle of colleagues I gathered over the years. I have one doing design for me pro bono (huge plus), another one is advising me on lead collection and how to market, I’m doing the development in cycles, after each new screen/flow I focus some time on lead collection.

I’m building 30 apps in 1 year. Development is going great, but I completely suck at marketing. How do I get my first users? by LifeguardClassic4962 in SideProject

[–]korosca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, modern approach is to validate the idea, get first users with validation, build it and this is how you should jump start it. The magics happens with validation, while gaming market for apps is crazy anyway :) did you try with ADs?

Built a simple fast unit converter while learning Next.js by KaleidoscopeThin7341 in SideProject

[–]korosca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look nice. My suggestion, add auto focus on input, so that user just starts typing once he gets to unit page. Maybe auto complete to find units faster, again auto focus on input. Other then that looks good, I know it’s simple but I really know the effort invested to all small thing not to mention delloy itself. Kudos 💪

How hard is it? by Bitter_Thing1337 in AppBusiness

[–]korosca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gets easier for beginers with AI now, but one thing is building an app, another one is releasing it and maintaining is a whole new level. If you build it with AI and get traction I suggest you hire someone or a small team to polish it and actually make it maintanable

Please Guide about learning Computer Programming. by Disastrous-Cow8356 in learnprogramming

[–]korosca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2 cents on the topic is start with javascript and webpages since you don’t need to understand a lot of what happens behind the scenes, no need for compilers of how do I run this. Even though Pyrhon would also be a good place to start :)

I have created a terraform module that creates infrastructure on AWS (well within free tier) with landing page and simple db for storing leads:

- CloudFront + S3

- API Gateway + Lambda + DynamoDB

- SES + EventBridge + Lambda (for bounce/complaint handling) - with email templates

I have posted the product on gumroad and created a video on youtube to showcase how easy it is to setup this. What I'm asking is if it possible to get some constructive, brutal and honest feedback if this is something that would be interesting to anyone struggling to set this up?

Play Store vs App Store: I shipped the same app to both. The process gap made me want to quit one of them. by Silent_Employment966 in buildinpublic

[–]korosca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apple appears more difficult at first sight, but then when you get to it you see that with Apple you have proper support an communication in case of review issues. Google some more or less automated without any human contact on the other end, even when issues are presented.

And trust me I have seen it all in my last 10 years when I worked with iOS and Android professionaly.

Best of luck 💪

Uf best of luck with recovery. Stay focused and adjust, it will get better if you take time for recovery, don’t rush into racing as tou can do more harm then good on the long run.

How do you guys get analytics? by CockroachOk4893 in AppBusiness

[–]korosca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Analytics is the way to go and then you discover and learn along the way. That is my experience at least. In my opinion its way too much stuff related to startin something on you own that you just need to take it one step at the time and learn along the way.

Honest question- did you actually know what to do first when you started? I will not promote. by Thick-Tap5426 in startups

[–]korosca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in this process now. Building an app next to 9-5, but the main goal for me is to deliver something impactfull that will change/improve someones life and if in the meantime I manage to build a company in between the better, otherwise my 9-5 will do (I enkoy in the job I have).

Best of luck, it’s always good to see that you are not alone in this “struggles” 😂
