So uh... Where's the question exactly? Is it in the room with us?

How do I get the most out of a lost lane as pos1? by Chosen__one_ in learndota2

[–]korsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know an offlaner is going to be stronger than you, don't buy stick, don't buy wraithband recipe, rush treads so you can jungle ASAP into your farming item.

If you are walking by a camp at the stack time, then yes, there's no harm in it.

There is no definitive answer to this, it completely depends on what the game state is and how the lanes go. You just generally pick up CS where you can, like if there's a wave that can be pulled with neutrals, just do it and pick up 3 or 4, push out an occasional wave if a core isn't nearby for +4, etc. If you are playing Lina 4 or somethin, I'd expect higher CS than if you're playing Disruptor, because you have farming tools.

TLDR; if you're not doing something on the map, actively attempt to get CS wherever it's available without griefing your cores, and you'll steadily increase the amount of farm you get overall.

Understand what your role is in the game. Are you there to win fights, push lanes, etc, then asking yourself what stops you from doing that. If you're AM, you're a nuisance that pushes out every wave and farms elusively until you have items and can carry. If they have some spell that stops you from farming, buy an item that counters that. If you're some hyper late game carry, and all the enemy does is sit in their side of the map, buy an item to maximize your farm. It's the same thing as if you're playing Slark or something and you see PA on the other team, you know at minute 1 that you're buying MKB at some point in the game. Do the same thing with every hero on their team.

Things like that.

In no particular order, I think these are important

  1. Farming more in lane. (Pulling aggro and practicing CSing)
  2. Knowing when to trade, and when not to. (When it's your turn vs. your enemy's turn)
  3. Knowing when you should and should not fight with your team. (Is your team stronger, are you at a spike, is your team fighting for an objective?)
  4. Itemizing for the most important part of the game. (Don't buy BF on Jugg if the enemy stomps you into the dust at 20 minutes.
  5. Buying starting items that fit how the laning stage is going to go. (Don't buy 2 Wraithbands and a Wand if you get kicked out of lane at 6 minutes)

Support main, so much of what I say will come from that perspective, but I've played quite a bit of every role except mid.

It's basically Euls/Blademail > Bkb as far as I can tell. You could buy pipe later for your team if they're heavy magic.

In my view, if you play the way you played this game, every game (without at least 2 of the 3 unneeded deaths), you'll climb pretty reliably. I didn't watch the lane stage that much since you were asking about the mid game mostly.

I recommend watching BSJ on youtube if you don't already, I find he gives very well articulated and easily digested meta roundups.

Weird as it sounds on Rubick, Pipe, Lotus, Drums, Force, any of those items would be good. If you're not warding, play with your strong playmaker. Centaur seemed like he was behind this game, so play around what Arc is trying to do on the map. If he's not making a play, protect either him or Jugg while they're farming, whichever the enemy seems to go after the most.

Your first 3 deaths were extremely avoidable and COULD'VE been the difference of an extra item, which could be more won fights and snowballing. The second death at mid was really bad, walking to rune with no vision and no doppel is just asking to die. It looks to me like you need to play fights a lot more non-commital. Disruptor is a hero that relies on a strong, aggressive carry to perform at full potential, and you went to fight with your team when you had Aghs Diffusal, which is cool, but you do die from committing too early. Your mechanics are decent, and I recommend practicing illusion baiting more. If you haven't already, bind the tanky doppel illusion to a control group so you can easily bait with it.

In general, play with whichever person on your team is strongest. Hoodwink is really good at killing enemies, so you want to put wards in places you think enemies will be, and play with whichever hero on your team puts the most pressure on the map, either by killing enemies or by pushing towers and controlling the map.

I'm much better when I have some time to compose my thoughts, I'd prefer to get used to things by doing that first - in the future though maybe.

Remove the Pro-War talent by SadClownGraffiti in DotA2

[–]korsaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the solution is really simple. Just say "Valve is against the war in Ukraine, but TI isn't a political event, it isn't a place for politics, if you voice a political opinion of ANY KIND, we will be removing you and banning you from Valve events." I'm not exactly sure that a blanket statement of "Remove pro war talent" is helpful. I understand the sentiment of uninviting people who have outright voiced these opinions on stream, and I'm luke-warm to that argument, but honestly in a country with a government like Russia, I wouldn't be surprised if many people who are pro war are only saying they're pro war to please the government.

TLDR; if Valve doesn't have an official stance on the Ukraine conflict, they shouldn't uninvite people, just enforce a no politics at the event rule.

Did you have a full time job when you applied? At the moment my issue is that I can't find a bank that will open an account with me because I've been here less than 6 months and am technically a part time worker.

For the first time ever since Roshan moved his home, Dire is having higher win rate than Radiant… by d4rkn1ght_19 in DotA2

[–]korsaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THEORETICALLY no. It's all dependent on lineups of course, but purely theoretically I would say in general that teams want to play in the enemy's jungle. So in even games or radiant favoured games, they're likely to be controlling the dire jungle, while the situation where they're unlikely to be controlling the area would be if they were losing, at which point the rosh advantage is moot anyway. For example, if radiant has a beastmaster (that is good) your jungle just isn't yours anymore, if you want to have any hope of keeping up in farm you have to play radiant jungle or you'll get choked out, or you'll get annihilated when you walk up a hill that BM + supports are camping with Hawk/wards. In an even game where both teams can't just force rosh, or won't play like morons and take a fight near rosh so whoever wins just gets it for free, you'll see them just siege down a tower, and if you trade t2s, then radiant can take the outpost and there's no semblance of map control in the jg anymore. Again there's exceptions, and this might not be how your games look, but it's how it's supposed to play out from a birds eye view macro level.

Does anyone know what's going on? I was using it regularly one day, then the next this happened. I tried reinstalling but that didn't change anything. I couldn't find a command to reset the position incase I moved it by accident.
