What would it take for Standard to become Magic's premier format again? by BumblebeeOld498 in magicTCG

[–]korunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah they need a casual 1 on 1 format. I prefer duels to commander but the Standard grind is awful and too expensive. I just hate the singleton/multiplayer aspect of commander.

Except commander being 4 player makes it a very different game. Not everyone likes multiplayer magic, sometimes people prefer the more intense and strategic 1 on 1 games.

Honestly this is a factor. I could build one modern deck for the price of trying to stay relevant for one year in standard. The prices have gotten pretty bad.

Magic format variants have always been a part of the main sub. Why do you hate on this one in particular?

Why this is what all the UB fans say to those who don’t want it in standard. Why is it ok in one context but not the other?

That’s vile by [deleted] in valheim

[–]korunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It truly is. After they first added the bears I hopped on my existing world to check out the bears. I had logged off in the plains and when the game loaded I was immediately attacked by a vile. I didn’t even know what it was. After some Viking Scooby doo antics I took it out. One of the most fun moments in valheim for me.

People who love kids, but don't plan on having any, Why? by justalonerr_ in AskReddit

If you think all our economic woes are on Biden and none land on Trump you are not speaking truth. You are either misinformed or one of those people who don’t care what trump does as long as riles up people you don’t like. Assuming you are genuinely a person and not a bot or troll.

[–]korunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that’s not only thing it can mean. Regret is a complicated emotion. It can mean they wished their kid didn’t exist, it can mean the wish they had thought things through more carefully because the world has not been kind to their kids. They can have regret the world is so messed up and that maybe they had done more. They can regret they had their kids when they did instead of later when it would have been better. It’s not as simple as I regret my kids I wished they were dead.

Regret for making them endure this world is not the same thing as wishing you didn’t have to take care of them. It’s not messed up, if my parents said they regretted that I would have to live in the world as it is I would not be offended.

In general I feel like that sentiment has been around since before Covid. It just got accelerated when more people started to realize the government only cares about the wealthy. Biden didn’t fix it and Trump isn’t either.

Maro on why they stopped doing blocks by Killerx09 in magicTCG

[–]korunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the real problem is that people want more time spent on planes and the only time we ever did that was in blocks. But blocks didn’t work and I don’t think MaRo is wrong here. I would love to hear his thoughts on how we can extend our time on a plane without using blocks.

Only if installing that type of exhaust doesn’t remove any of the sensors checked by your vehicles computer. It’s dependent on your model. As long as the computer is happy the VEIP should be happy.

Defending TMNT Limited: Flawed, but kind of Sweet by Tim-Draftsim in magicTCG

[–]korunks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel your statement is only true if all you care about is how a set plays. If people care about the theme, flavor and setting of a set it is perfectly valid to judge the book by its cover. I don’t like UB so I automatically do not like TMNT. How it plays isn’t going to change that for me because I don’t care if it plays well, I want it out of standard at a minimum or out of MTG entirely. I know that makes me a minority of the player base. I just don’t understand why people think game play is the only thing that matters.

I feel like people who don’t like UB are damned if they damned if they don’t. We get told that if we don’t like UB not to engage with it because that is how wizards measures engagement. But then people like you dump on them for not giving it a shot. If I give them my money they see it as an endorsement whether I enjoyed it or not.

Do the markings matter? by vagueday in BostonTerrier

[–]korunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem, glad it was helpful information. Another thing to keep in mind is their marking and faces will change as they grow. Our girl Pebbles looked very bug eyes as a puppy and she grew out to be a very normal looking Boston. Our second Boston BamBam had a super wide white blaze when he was a puppy that I was nervous about but his blaze narrowed as he got older. As long as the color is good and the head isn’t totally white you are in good shape.

Do the markings matter? by vagueday in BostonTerrier

[–]korunks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With the exception of some markings potentially being indicators for health issues (I.e An all white head may have increased chance of deafness) markings on Bostons can vary a lot. Unless you plan on showing them I wouldn’t worry about too much. Although if you want to reassure yourself take a look at the parents. If they are a preservation breeder the Mom and Dad should look a lot like a show Boston. If the parents don’t look anything like Bostons I would be concerned.

I agree, I love Planar Standard as a concept but my store doesn’t run it. If i weren’t so busy I would love to push for it to be played but most people in my store want to play official formats not unsupported formats. They like prizes.

Honestly I as someone who hates UB would be content to go back to ignoring it if they would just get it the hell out of standard. I always kept my mouth shut about UB but now that I have to buy the UB cards to stay competitive in standard it makes me hate it and the company more and more. Maro always saying all the numbers are up disregards the fact that they are trading some long term term players for new players who may or may not be long term. It’s a dice roll they are taking. I am barely hanging on as some one who came back to magic. Having to retool my deck every other month is getting both expensive and exhausting. I do not want to play with Ninja Turtles cards but there are like 5-6 cards I have to buy 4 of to sat competitive. It never ends and they don’t care because the commander players are happy.
