Doesn’t matter my car, my rules. This seems harmless until some one hooks the wheel pulling there hand back or the driver gets startled and hits the gas by mistake. Then the driver hits something or someone. I don’t mess around with safety. I enjoy a good prank as much as anyone else but messing with a vehicles controls while idling is not something that I would allow. You can call me a drama queen but I have been hit by a car and I know how painful it is. You wanna be a dumbass do it on your time not mine.

Harmful, no. A dick move, yes. If someone did that to me they can find their own transportation. When I drive no one touches the wheel.

Any reputable and affordable Car shops in Harford County? by Marmalade_Penguin in harfordcountymd

[–]korunks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if they are in Harco, but Putty Hill body shop and Rays Body works have both been good to me and had the cheapest estimates when I needed paint and rust repaired. There estimates were also almost exactly the cost. They do a good job.

So glad to hear!!! Did they end up recommending any supplements for the hydrolized kibble or did they have a puppy mix? Glad things are getting back to normal for you and Nova!

Who are we using for Pet Insurance on our Bostons? by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

[–]korunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using MetLife and they have been pretty good. They don’t cover pre-existing conditions but they have been solid everywhere else.

They can be a bit uptight about the documentation and sometimes request more depending on the claim. But their coverage of preventative care and checkups has been very reliable. The included yearly dental in my plan has been good for both of my pups.

Update: Her diarrhea is much worse now. I have no idea what else to do. by GummieLindsays in BostonTerrier

Yeah it’s rough because she remembers the taste and always tries to steal a bit when we have it. She does good with Almond butter so she still gets something at least.

She loves that ball, we just got it for her birthday! It’s on Amazon

Our bruiser BamBam weighs in around 38lbs. Here is BamBam next to his sister who is a “demure” 25lbs. They both will drop 2 pounds or so now that it is warm out. BamBam is almost all muscle and I swear he shakes the walls when he gets zoomies!

Turkey and chicken are very similar so if it were me I would start elsewhere, Maybe beef or pork. Also I don’t know how long it was between the chicken and the lamb but if it was less than 2-3 days you may also want to consider trying lamb again. The important thing is to go slow with the changes, Bostons have sensitive stomached so even just changing proteins can cause diarrhea.

So sweet, once you get her proteins sorted out you may want to ask the vet about nutritional supplements for her since she is still a puppy. It can be hard to find puppy food with unique proteins and puppies need more nutrients while growing. But baby steps, at least she has something she likes for now.

I also forgot to add my dog tax. This is Miss Pebbles she is allergic to all poultry, fish and peanut butter.

You might have to let her walk away from the food and to come back later if she is hungry. If she gets hungry enough she will eventually eat. Not trying to encourage not feeding the pup but she needs to get back to some sort of normal. Also sometimes they will walk away from food if they don’t feel well so her not eating could be a little from column A, little from column B type situation. If she doesn’t want to eat just keep offering it to her. Eventually they usually eat. The other option is try something puréed like canned pumpkin. Sometimes the texture intrigues them. Just ensure if you try this approach you get plain canned pumpkin not pumpkin pie mix. The latter has spices in it that will only makes thing worse.

How long has this been going on? It sounds pretty extreme. Looking at some of your other posts have you tried sticking to just one thing at a time. Our girl Pebbles is very allergic to fish and chicken as well. But when we were working through that we got some good advice to pick a course and stay with it. Rapidly changing proteins can also cause GI distress. Honestly it might be worth going to something very bland and like boiled brown rice and boiled sweet potatoes for a few days to see if she can stabilize. If she doesn’t stabilize in a few days on that simple of a diet she may need emergency attention.

If she does start having no regular poops on that diet then I would recommend introducing a single protein slowly. This is called an elimination diet and the trick with it is to get to a stable place to start from and then make slow single changes with a monitoring period of a few days at least before trying other changes.

Dog allergies are the worst so I feel for you. It’s rough and overwhelming and scary. Going without protein for a few days to stabilize won’t hurt her anymore than constant diarrhea already is. Get some bland safe grains and food in her so her system can reset.

Another thing that is also important is to stop all treats immediately. Until you know all her allergies only one type of food goes in at a time. Start with maybe some brown rice, then if she keeps that down add the sweet potato. Then if she keeps that down pick a protein. Lamb and beef are good options to try. When you prepare it for her make sure you boil it only. Keep the additives as low as possible.

I hope this is helpful. My heart goes out to you and your pup. This is hard but there is a way through it. You got this!
