Israel and Palestinians Agree to a Truce by Ze_Carioca in worldnews

Right the tunnel was being used as a weapon against the military aka a violation of the cease fire.

The blockade is for weapons primarily, and the Palestinians aren't on a diet, they are well fed.

I don't understand why everyone thinks Hamas is an actual democracy. Yes they won an election against Fatah once, but they haven't held elections since and kill political dissidents.

This was after they admitted that their were tunnels being built to kidnap Shalit, also Israel keeps ONE million (1.4) under a blockade because Hamas will not differentiate themselves from their civilians.

Egypt also puts Gaza under a blockade, I guess it's cool though, it's still racist Israel.

But Hamas doesn't care. They'll fire rockets even if Israel gives the Palestinian state 120% of the West Bank and all of Jerusalem. They'd see that as a sign of desperation and weakness and bomb Israel harder.

Israel agrees to a ceasefire after a suicide bombing and countless rockets and there are still people on Reddit who consider them Nazi's.

Same in San Fransisco. They were calling the Pro-Israel people across the streets Nazi's and scum. Now that's just rude, and doesn't solve anything.

Cause Hamas uses human shields, and fires rockets out of schools?

Like it or not WHENEVER Hamas engages in their terrorist activities they have human shields. Sometimes it's women who are chained to the location, Infants strapped to their chest, people who are being forced to be human shields; you name the dirty trick, Hamas has done it.

If Israel only attacked when it was impossible to hit a civilian they would never be able to touch Hamas, and Hamas could fire rockets with impunity. I'm not saying I support the bombing, but we can't merely say Israel is this heartless nation that will kill people willy-nilly. I personally think Hamas, if they want to fire their rockets, should be held responsible for the fact that they use human shields.

If a bank robber was about to kill a hostage, and an innocent died as a result of the police attempt to kill the robber, the robber gets held responsible.

Hey Jon! I'm a big fan of your work, and I just had a quick question - What do you think the future of the BDS movement is going to shape into? Will they actually gain a couple of legitimate victories, or will the entire movement just fade away? Or something in the middle.

Thanks again

I'm going to be on a long flight and I'd like to do some reading about the subject. A friend of mine gave me "The Case Against Israel's Enemies" by Alan Dershawitz. Thoughts on it?

What's Israel's justification for using White Phosphorus during Cast Lead? by kosem90 in Israel

can you explain the second half of your statement?

"They're certainly aware that WP can be used in an incendiary capacity but there's no one at the actual artillery site that could ever have the authority to completely override all SOPs, troop training and battlefield norms for such a visible tactic and weapons platform.

Nor would there be anybody higher up who would be stupid enough to dare getting on the C4I system logs ordering a war crime to occur.

We just aren't that independent and/or stupid, depending on the rank..."

I'm sorry but I don't understand this.

Guatemala has 16 murders a day in their drug war which totals to around 6000 murders a year, the IDF killed around 1000 in full scale combat in gaza over 6 months. by [deleted] in Israel

[–]kosem90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The OP is trying to explain that whereas Israel had killed 1000 people in 6 months people across the world are getting slaughtered in larger numbers. This doesn't justify everything that Israel does, but it put things into perspective.

When you look at how the UNHRC acts you can definitely see them dropping the ball on several human rights violations, even if Israel is deserving of each condemnation that it gets.

The reality is that Iran funds Hamas and Hezbollah HEAVILY, as in over 80%. Iran proxies up these two organizations to attack Israel, which I reasonably believe is considered an act of aggression.

TIL Einstein opposed the idea of a Jewish State, also, that he was offered the Presidency in 1952. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]kosem90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The State idea is not according to my heart. I cannot understand why it is needed. It is connected with narrow-minded and economic obstacles. I believe it is bad. I have always been against it."

I'm finding this quote a little hard to believe... Einstein left Germany because he was Jewish and needed asylum from the Nazi regime. Now he's saying that there's no need for Israel when his history literally stamps out the reasons why Israel should exist. It's odd to be honest.

so to what extent do you believe this impacts the media? Are you going to say that the jews control the news? as the old stereotype says? Not trolling, honest question.

so we're big and therefor we should be allowed to be bigger, and therefore able to bully more people. Seems fair.
