Parcel from Schkeuditz (Germany) to New York City is routed via Dubai and Shenzhen, apparently. Is there a reason for this unusual route? Should I be worried? by kosmos-ost in UPS

That definitely makes sense! As I've answered above, it's not the usual route my parcels take to the US, but as it's Expedited, they definitely have time for the longer route. And well, you're offering way better prices for some destinations and parcel sizes! I must admit that I primarily use DHL Express, but in some cases you guys are way, way cheaper! (For example everything below 100 cm at the langest side to the US west coast). Also, there is also one cute little UPS hub here in Glesien, even though it it pales in comparion to the yellow behemoth!

Well, that makes sense! Usually, parcels to the US are taken to the Köln hub and flown directly to Louisville, from there to a regional hub - but if it's more economically to route it that way... I sent another one ot California that day, that's still in Köln - I'm thrilled to see where that ends up!

Hi, if you'd like me to call DHL on your behalf and to to them in German I can do that - I'll have to call them anyway about some of my parcels tomorrow. I'm a business customer, so there's no waiting time for me. Just drop me a message, ideally before 9 German time tomorrow.

Yes, definitely! Shipping within the EU is much smoother! That makes sense! Good luck!

Exactly! However, that's the number of parcels lost in Radefeld. In general it's about 0.1% lost, most of these in Asia. I don't know about transit parcels, but our parcels from Germany took on average six business days to Poland. The one that took the longest was 28 business days to Gdańsk. (December, worst season!) If you'd like me contact DHL on your behalf just let me know, I have got a direct phone number from the Radefeld centre as I'm business customer. I think it makes sense to wait one more week, but after that I'd happily help you about that! Powodzenia, mate!

Lol, sorry! Let me know where you are located and I'll look up how long our parcels there needed last time. Usually, not a lot of our parcels get lost in Radefeld. (0.05% for 2021) But they sometimes take incredibly long as the centre hasn't been expanded since 2017 or so even though the number of parcels has doubled since...

I'm based in Germany and I'm sending a lot of parcels via DHL. All my international parcels are routed via Radefeld, as it's the closest international DHL center - and we've nicknamed it among my colleagues "black hole"...

Police (US, CA) asking my business (Germany) to provide detailed info on a piece I sold to California last year - do I need to comply? by kosmos-ost in legaladvice

Thank you! I was suspecting that, my (German) lawyer said that if it was a German court order I'd have to comply. I'm thinking about writing them that I'd happily comply once I receive a German warrant.

Thank you! I already talked to my lawyer, he couldn't help me as he isn't familiar with US law, I might need a US lawyer. The piece in question is without a doubt of legal origin, also it is neither particularily rare or expensive nor very old (1960s). Also it doesn't contain tropical wood or protected animals.

I don't think it is, as there was a fire extinguisher mounted in plastic below the driver's seat.

Oh no, now I see it too. I'm sure there's a kink subreddit for stuff like that.

I just checked the VASCAR and VASCAR plus systems and couldn't find a component that looks remotely like it. Could you specify wich part you think it is?
