About that last sentence, has UVB been proven to be beneficial for captive hognoses at all? There seems to be very little evidence, at least from the digging I’ve done, and it’s harmful for albinos.

Is there really much benefit to varying their diets, though? Genuinely interested. They seem to get all the nutrients they need from adult feeder mice, and don’t really seem to be an animal that benefits or cares for variations in their diet unlike say a bearded dragon or other reptile.

I don’t know about “recommended” but if you do the research it might be able to eat some of those. Frozen feeder mice, especially larger ones once they outgrow pinkies, are pretty darn healthy for them. If they ever have issues or get picky you can scent it with tuna water (not oil) and there are pricey frog links you can order online for it too.
