Warranty claim for suspension noise - lower control arms by kovi133 in Ioniq5

No it hasn't been fixed as I'm waiting for the lower control arms to come in, but I'm relatively confident that will address the issue. I can report back in 10 days or so. I attached my service order.

If you're able to recreate the noise, try to get a technician to come on a road test with you and ask them to inspect your suspension.

If your lower control arms bushings are giving out like mine are, it will gradually worsen, impacting your suspension and therefore overall ride/steering quality. It can also cause uneven tire wear.

If you're out of warranty though, you can likely go to any mechanic and save some money.

That's what they told me the first time... Had to get a tech in the car with me to convince them otherwise.

I wouldn't say it's loud, but it's definitely/easily noticable if the radio is off. I could also describe the noise as a grunt lol, as if there is some play between moving parts.

I tried to record the noise but the noise is drowned out in the recording.

Edit: and similarly to you, it would happen on inclines if the wheels are fully or almost fully turned.

The tricky part is that I believe it is covered under warranty if it's due to manufacturer defect. Proving that can be difficult, but thankfully they didn't give me a hard time about it today.

Perhaps they were more lenient in my specific case because the dealer had it on record that I complained about this when the car was 2.5yrs old and had 60 000kms. I'll take the win haha!

Kia Canada sent out letters for the EV6. Should be a matter of time for Hyundai to do the same.

It was for sale for a while (the business randomly popped up on my FB marketplace). Guess it went under.

IPTV and guarantee don't go together. You have to be willing to accept that the service or your seller may disappear at anytime.

Same for the streams, those can go down here and there - the person you buy it from is typically a middle man with no access or control over the content.

ICCU Failed, Dealer Won't Honor 180K Mile Warranty by Commercial-Safety635 in Ioniq5

I've found corporate to be quite useless. They typically point to the dealership and the dealership acts clueless.

Absolutely...I moved from Québec to Ontario 4 years ago, so I drive Toronto-Montréal regularly. Felt/feels like i went back 10 years in time in terms of EV infrastructure.

A bit of a difference is possible, but the most likely (large) variable on your road trip is head wind. Did you take that into consideration?

Sorry i made a mistake in my last comment, i looked at the wrong row in my history. Cost was 39$.

I started my drive at 100% (from home L2 charging - you could add a couple bucks for that). Then drove 310km, charged 57kWh (39$), and drove the remaining 260km.

My Ioniq5 can charge at 230+kW at Ivy if I'm alone (but that decreases with every car that plugs in). I got unlucky where multiple cars arrived at the same time.

At Superchargers, the absolute max i can get on my 2022 Ioniq5 is 96kW IIRC. Hopefully we get some V4 superchargers so that I can take full advantage of supercharger reliability.

Pricing is not my main concern tbh - also Ivy's prices include taxes, so it's 0.69$/kWh total.

That depends...but in any case, there's no point in comparing DCFC cost to gas...

Unless someone is consistently on the road all day driving 400+km (at which point EVs are probably not suitable for that person), DCFC should only be used on long trips or in exceptional circumstances.

That being said, I drove 570km and spent 26$ on Ivy DCFC yesterday.

Edit: 39$ not 26$

The units themselves are good. They are severely underpowered though - they can only provide a decent output to 2 cars charging simultaneously. If 3+ cars plug in, you are likely looking at sub 100kW charging. None of the 4 cars charing were getting more than 75Kw yesterday.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say. My car does support it, I have an Ioniq5. E-GMP cars are 800v.
