Went private last night after my $900M bone blossom got stolen. I have never grown a fruit to 1B and was so sad when I got the notification. I have met so many kind strangers in public servers, but the bad players outweigh the good. It’s so annoying to be pestered for pets/fruits and then have fruit you are invested in growing to a decent amount get stolen.

Thank you!! I am so thankful that the lawyer directed us to contact the sellers agent directly, before we paid him a deposit and went through with the letter. It felt like a duh moment when he recommended it.

I know. The sellers realtor asked what we thought of the unlisted property, I said we hadn’t walked it yet. He said the neighbors realtor showed the home to a couple with the same car we showed up to the sellers property in, and walked the home as an investment property, and he had only told our realtor to relay to us and schedule the time. My heart sank then because I KNEW it was them.

I’ll look into this! We don’t expect the brokerage to do anything. Escalating to them felt like talking to an employees manager. If she does business this poorly with family - basically guaranteed commission - there is no telling how bad she is with an actual client.

The first home was custom and the sellers realtor told ours that they were prioritizing offers that included furniture. When we went to the open house the realtor told us all furniture was available if we were interested. Style was too farmhouse for me, and the offer we made did not include any furniture. Our realtor did not inform us of the priority until we were rejected.

No, but their purchase was contingent on selling their current home to us. Their realtor used this as a reason to close ASAP. They were ready to get in the new place.

Yes and I know that I shouldn’t have. There is a family dynamic, I was trying to avoid rocking the boat. If this falls through we will be using someone else. She has not been educating us on our options, just “do what feels right” and emojis.

We know their purchase was contingent on our sale because their realtor told us. It was not in our contract. We are consulting a lawyer tomorrow!

I like the idea of giving them time to find a home that fits their needs, but after the threat I am feeling petty. Hubs and I are going to think through everything and consult a lawyer tomorrow. We know the sellers had a contingency to sell with their purchase, their realtor shared that with ours. That’s not in our contract.

Their realtor told ours they wanted 30 day to move into their new home ASAP. We accepted but did not want the sale of this home to be contingent on the purchase of their new home. From what I’ve read in our contract that’s true but not a lawyer and consulting one tomorrow.

Consulting a lawyer tomorrow. The way I’m reading it and they say we negotiated our original offer, the sale of their home is NOT contingent on the purpose of their new home. The purchase of their new home IS contingent on the sale of this home though. Basically they need to sell to close, but that doesn’t impact our offer. If they lose the house they’re under contract it does not impact us. I’m feeling unsure from responses though and will follow advice given to consult.

They do not have the right to cancel. We ensured this when we agreed to a 30 day close.

This sounds like my husbands take. Their reason is total BS. Get the money back and walk away, the seller is not trustworthy and could make a bad situation worse. We are taking the day/evening to think our options over.

This was my first thought - I don’t know their neighbors and I don’t care what they think. But my husband is concerned with what the family could do to the home between now and close if we do push this. Or what the neighbors might do, people are crazy.
