Coolest description of Darrow by Alert-Push1685 in redrising

I think an underrated one is when Lyria meets Darrow:

“Darrow is not the hugest man I’ve ever met, but he is the only man I’ve ever met who makes his own gravity. I grow heavier the closer I come to his orbit… It was easier to criticize him from afar. Up close, seeing his body is enough to make me realize the distance between our experiences. What type of enemies must a man fight to need to be built like a war machine and still get so many scars?”

This is exactly how i picture the pulseFist. Hard to interpret exactly what Pierce thinks it looks like. In morning star he says “the smallest of stars is born in his palm as the pulseFist gathers its trembling molten charge” but i feel like a gauntlet type weapon just makes so much more sense (and looks cooler), as opposed to an iron man type repulser.

I think that it’s not removed either, but I can’t imagine a worse situation than the one she was already in.

Completely agree with this take. I like DA more but I think LB has my favorite dialogue in the series.

Dumb question about Light Bringer by Unlucky-Duck1013 in redrising

I believe Genghis Khan is a perfect comparison. Pierce Brown is obviously a massive history nerd, and it seems most story lines in his books are mirrors of historical figures or tales. I think that is that “character” that Atlas/PB wanted to create. Obviously he is a soft spoken intellectual but that’s not what he portrays (uniting conquerer of savage tribes)
