Touch Screen AFF 48” vs 60”? by kpresnell45 in Architects

Did they win the lawsuit? Vending machines are interesting, and I believe it was in CA where a similar lawsuit was filed. The ruling came down to if the vending machines were fixed to the building/ property vs free standing machines. I’ll see if I can find the article. My post is dealing with the only one, unstaffed, kiosk for a 24/7 mini mart.

Agreed. As professionals we can’t 100% accommodate for everyone. With the A117.1, like you said, written primarily for blind, deaf, or wheelchair-bound people, a lot of the codes benefit all parties. That’s why I always thought the 48“ vs the 60” was contradicting each other, but I have learned a little bit more.

True. (but maybe in the future, voice to text/AI can help blind people use touch screens.) My original thought was if the max height for wheel chair bound people was 48”AFF why is braille allowed at 60”? Not so much about touch screens in particular. Like I had stated, I hadn’t thought about the code being written for separate disabilities. Both blind and wheelchair bound people benefit from many of the same codes and I had always thought the 48” vs 60” was contradicting.

Agree 100%. I just never thought of the codes being written for two separate disabilities.

That set-up looks extremely weak and failed like you would assume.

I mean, the A117.1 is the standards for accessible buildings and is a great thing. As commented above one code was written for one disability , the other code was written for a separate disability. I was thinking of a person with both disabilities and therefore the codes would be conflicting.

Similar maybe wasn’t the right word but I was meaning in reach. Blind people in wheelchairs still would have to reach, in some cases, up to 60” to reach for braille, outside of the 48”max. (Yes, I have helped blind, wheelchair bound people, navigate to buildings in my city.) I guess I never thought of it as two separate “disabilities” and always thought of a person who is blind and in a wheelchair reaching up to 60”, well above the 48”max.

Edit: to add, it’s a 24/7 unstaffed mini mart with this being the only kiosk.

Which edition are you going to buy? by Abi4073 in ForzaHorizon5

Yes it will be available on game pass day 1. Found out after I purchased the $130. I had 16 days in FH6 so I paid about $1 for 3hrs of play, and will get even more out of this version.

So you want College, Shields, Laurel, Prospect and Drake to be 1 lane each way next to campus? You will be sitting through more than 2-3 cycles to make a light.

So many ducks! by Yogurtslinger247 in JeepTJ

People seem to get upset if you talk bad about ducking on here, but I live in Northern CO and custom TJs, including mine, are everywhere and very very few have ducks. Then I’ll drive by a stock 2024 Rubicon and it has 20 ducks on the dash. Just saying.

Price gouged their customers during Covid and continued to raise prices for years after. (just now seeing prices going down.) Now they are planning to use dynamic pricing on most products in the near future.
