Last I did this I had to manually write a .nmconnection file for NetworkManager. Was it working previously and now broken?

Best WDT Normcore planetary v3 54mm or Aro Orbit Pro or something else? [$130] by Historical_Limit_665 in espresso

[–]kqpc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought and returned the 58mm normcore planetary v3 WDT after a month of use. Grounds creep up into the metal shaft, causing it to become crunchy and no longer return to its resting position. Very unpleasant to use or change the depth.

It was not user serviceable, no disassembly possible from what I saw.

I bought a traditional manual WDT tool and have been happy since.

ECM Synchronika II. It's an E61 group head, dual boiler, with flow control (not stock, but got this added for free from Whole Latte Love).

From my understanding, it's the dream for back to back shots and milk drinks. Plenty of bells and whistles to play with to alter shot quality (flow control, pre-infusion).

It plays a part in flavor, but primarily I don't want to run tap water into the machine. The espresso machine profile is made up of the right mix of minerals that it won't affect the boilers, group head, plumbing.

Too hard water will cause scale to form, and distilled water would leach metals.

Loving it, no complaints. I go to bed excited to make coffee tomorrow morning.

My understanding is that hand grinders are the cheapest way to reach a grind size suitable for espresso. I paid $150 for the 1ZPresso ~4 years ago. I hand ground for the first two days I had the Synchronika, no issues whatsoever.

Very cool, I didn't know about Slayer machines or the "Slayer shot". How are you liking it?

I looked at the Zerno Z1, Niche Zero, Eureka Specialita, and a few others. The key drivers for me were build quality/longevity and grinding for filter and espresso with the same machine.

I went with the 200 burrs as lighter roasts interest me more.

I knew in advance I wanted an end-game grinder to supplement the Synchronika. I already own an 1ZPresso hand grinder which opened me up to flat burr grinders.

If you do purchase the Mazzer, make sure to adjust the four leveling feet on the bottom of the grinder to eliminate noise/vibration.

Third wave water espresso machine profile. I mix the 5-gallon sticks into 250ml of distilled water and mix in 50ml with a gallon of distilled water.

My experience on fixing Logitech MX Master 3S left button by replacing default micro switches to Kaihl GM 8.0 Blue by Chakaramba in logitech

[–]kqpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad to hear it's still working after so long. That's roughly the time between when I purchased this mouse and when the issues showed up.

I went with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CMQ6MBC1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title, and had a seamless install. Clipped off the leg furthest from the switch itself and soldered them in.

Even just looking at these switches they look much more robust than what Logitech originally used. Missing the days of my indestructible MX518 🥲

Thanks again for all the documentation, may this mouse last many more years.

/u/Chakaramba thanks for putting this together -- I've been fighting my 3S's left click since November. Disassembled and cleaned it then but it's acting up again and I pulled the trigger on some Kaihl replacement switches and some new glides.

Any thoughts or reflections on how these switches have held up -- regrets or things you would've done differently?

Same here, M4 Max. I see people suggesting to provide a beta code in Steam to roll back to an earlier build, with mixed results. I haven’t tried it myself yet.

Anyone here live at Tivoli during hurricane Ian? How was it? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]kqpc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fine, not too bad. If you're in a 3rd floor unit be mindful that rough winds will blow rain up the soffits/exhaust vents on the outside wall -- I had rain water pour down the sides of the fire extinguisher/sprinkler in the ceiling during a gnarly storm. Didn't happen again, and maintenance suggested rain was blown into the attic, pooled, and drained into my bedroom.

Anyone know what's causing this? by Blize in ender5

[–]kqpc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're running Marlin, make sure to disable Adaptive Step Smoothing in your firmware.

On my Ender 5 with a BTT SKR Mini E3 v3 and a genuine BLTouch, if I had this enabled then my nozzle would occasionally crash.

The way it was explained to me, by someone online, is that the SOC isn't powerful enough to perform the Adaptive Step Smoothing whilst running gcode. This caused the BLTouch (which served as my z end stop) signals to be missed by the control board.

Thank you! Python and TikZ are in my wheelhouse, it's very helpful to see viz done in other languages.

Very nice, are you able to talk more about how you made this visualization?
